Ho shit.
Exactly. M-Beezy doin work. Now that I think about it I may need about 14 of them for when 3 or 4 get suspended throughout the season.
Ricky is that dude. He's like having that one black friend, but since Im black I have to have that one "Texan" friend and he's it. The rest of em can get Auschwitz'd.
I'm not gonna be gay and mention players I've never watched on TV/Real Life.
C: Mike Piazza*: Played for the Mets (instant hatred here) but monster. He was most definitely on the roids, but his ability to hit for average and power is second to none for that position (even though he was a really shitty defensive catcher)
*Really inclined to say Joe Mauer, but Target Field is gonna kill his numbers.
1B: Albert Pujols: No explanation needed, greatest hitter of his generation, will probably go down as one of the top 10 hitters to ever play.
2B: Chase Utley: Virtually no competition at his position until this year (an extended slump and Robinson Cano's emergence as a fucking stud helped bring that about) Dude hits for average, power, drives in runs, plays elite D, and steals bases like a fucking wizard (23-0 in 2009)
SS: Derek Jeter: Overpaid as fuck most likely, but consistent as consistent gets. I don't have much to say about him because I don't wanna sound like a biased idiot.
3B: Alex Rodriguez: There hasn't been a more talented player to play this game. .300/50/130 SS don't grow on trees, hell, .300/50/130 anything, doesn't grow on trees. He was a 40 SB threat and the best defensive SS at his position. He was forced to move to 3B and his defense took a hit and his running game crawled to a stop (still an excellent basestealer). True Yankee.
LF: Manny Ramirez: Second best hitter of his generation. Demolished the fuck out of the Yankees, most feared hitter I've ever seen. You pretty much shat your pants if you were a Yankee fan and Manny came up to the plate with the game on the line.
CF: Ken Griffey Jr.: Favorite non-Yankee of all time. Hated him for holding a life-long grudge against the Yanks and spurning them during Free Agency, but injuries sidelined his chances of being the best of all time.
RF: Barry Bonds: A total piece of shit, HGH abuser, but some of the numbers he put up aren't gonna be touched, ever. E.g.; Four straight 230 OPS+ seasons, 232BB/42SO season, 120 Intentional Walks in one season (for comparison's sake, Albert Puojls has been IBB'd 128 times in the last four seasons) .609 OBP.
DH: Edgar Martinez: It's a fucking sham the dude wasn't elected into the Hall of Fame in his first try. Sham! Plus, anyone who has a .625 BA in 18 AB's against Mariano Rivera deserves his place on this list.
Starters: I'll keep this brief.
1. Pedro Martinez: No equal. His numbers speak for themselves, especially when taken into account that he put them up at the height of the steroid era.
2. Randy Johnson: Best LHP of all time, fuck Koufax. He was basically Pedro from the left side.
3. Greg Maddux: Unparalleled ability to throw any pitch where he wanted, if he walked you, it was probably due to the ump fucking up.
4. Roy Halladay: The numbers he put up in a division that housed powerhouse offenses such as Boston, NY, and recently Tampa Bay, was retarded. Fittingly, he goes to the NL and skeets over everyone.
(No fifth starter required)
Closer: Mariano Rivera: Fuck the "best closer evar!" mantra, dude is the best reliever of all time and he's doing it on one pitch. Like Maddux, uncanny ability to throw the ball with pinpoint precision. I'll literally cry when the man retired because it means we're basically fucked.
There you go. That team never loses a game, guaranteed.
NFL: '96 Packers. No need for any of this mixing and matching when you've got a machine whose parts are made to work together and forged in the FROZEN TUNDRA.
C: Johnny Bench
1st: Lou Gehrig
2nd: Eddie Collins
3rd: Mike Schmidt / Pete Rose ( i need to put Rose somewhere!)
SS: Ozzie Smith
LF: Ted Williams
CF: Ty Cobb / Willie Mays / Mickey Mantle
RF: Babe Ruth
SP: Cy Young / Sandy Koufax / Bob Gibson / Nolan Ryan / Greg Maddux
CP: Mariano Rivera
Damm baseball is so hard to pick players by position.
Edit:
Goalkeeper: Lev Yashin
Fuck Positions in soccer

Platini

Zidane
You forgot Freddy Adu.
Baseballl
C Joe Mauer: When its all said and done He might be one of the better pure hitters in this generation. I hesitate to put him down as Catcher because before his career is over he is likely to get moved to another position pretty soon. Although Target Field hasn't been very kind to him
Honorable mention: Pudge Rodriguez - In his prime he was the best overall catcher to ever play the game. Alleged Steroid user.
1B Albert Pujols: Enjoy it now folks the best overall hitter period to ever play this game and all this without juicing it (as far as we know). The guy is just a beast.
Honorable mention: Lou Gehrig - the Iron horse's resume speaks for himself.
2B Eddie Collins: The Original Speed demon. The guy was a beast on the basepads. Also the guy was just a winner everywhere he went. winning 4/6 world series he played in. Would have been 5/6 but was part of the infamous 1919 Black Sox.
Honorable mention: Ryne Sandberg- Somewhat of a homer pick but the guy was Chase Utley before Chase Utley was Chase Utley. Dallas Green should be in prison he basically stole Ryno from Philly.
SS Alex Rodriguez: don't think this needs explaining other then Arod had his best Numbers while playing SS.
Honorable mention: Tie between Cal ripken jr and Derek Jeter.
Cal is the our the Iron Horse of our time and his numbers were stellar before Arod basically redefined the position. As for Jeter the guy is just a winner and a proven leader. Someone who would improve anyones team I'm sure before long the story of his personal life will probably overshadow his Playing career. The guy has to be crushing tail every night.
3B Mike Schmidt: The Cub killer who stats have not been eclipsed by anyone yet. It's unfair to give Arod this slot since He was never a 3B until after he arrived with the Yankees.
Honorable Mention: George Brett - the Mullet was just a hitter who was one of the most clutch postseason players of all time.
LF Ted Williams: One of the best hitters of all time. I actually struggled on who I liked more Pujols or teddy. In the end Ted williams is one of the best stories in baseball and a War Hero. He gave up some of his best baseball years to fight in WWII and by all accounts was an Ace Fighter pilot.
Honorable Mention: Stan Musial - Mr. Batting title. Was one of the games greatest hitters. A career .331 hitter with 3 MVP under his belt.
CF Joe DiMaggio: While his numbers don't seem impressive to the untrained eye Jolting joe was one of the greatest fielders/hitters of all-time. My personal Favorite
Honorable Mention: Tris Speaker- The greatest Defensive CF of all time. The guy was essentially a fifth infielder and once executed an Unassisted double play. A fucking Center fielder lol
The guy was no Slouch at the plate either he is the most prolific doubles hitter to ever play the game.
RF Sammy Sosa: Basbol bin berry berry good to him Hank Aaron
Honorable mention: Babe Ruth - No introduction need for either of these guys
Starting Rotation
Nolan Ryan
Roger Clemens
Greg Maddux
Pedro Martinez
Randy Johnson
Relievers
Mariano Rivera
Trevor Hoffman
Dennis Eckersley
Hoyt Wilhelm
It would be pretty easy to make an All Time MLB Team with nothing but Cardinals on it.
I think for baseball it should be an All Time Players with Class and All Time Players who were despicable.
Like for baseball:
All Time Good People:
C
1B
2B
3B
SS Cal Ripken Jr.
OF
OF Ken Griffey Jr.
OF
SP Curt Schilling
All Time Bad People:
C
1B
2B
3B
SS
OF Barry Bonds
OF Albert Belle
OF Jose Canseco
SP
The only determination doesn't have to be steroids, I mean, Albert Belle was just a d-bag. I don't know baseball that well, but it just seems like there's a lot of dipholes, and a lot of nice people. Funny, I wonder what team Pete Rose belongs on. I personally don't think betting on your team to win is wrong... but w/e.
Now you're talking! I remember being start struck a few years ago when my wife and I were eating at Ruth's Chris Steak House in downtown St Louis and we were a few tables away from Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee and a then up and coming, yet to be known BUST named Kerry Robinson.
I love me some Cards.
Not that hard when the best players are bought.
Football - 1985 and beyond, players at their peak.
GK - Peter Schmeichel
DR - Cafu
DC - Carles Puyol

SB5 - Zinedine Zidane
SB6 - Marco van Basten

Might've missed a lot, that's all that comes off my head right now. Also depends on the lineup of course.
I'm gonna put two teams up, one with players I've seen then an all time team.
1B - Albert Pujols
2B - Chase Utley
SS - Cal Ripken Jr.
3B - Mike Schmidt

Picking the outfield is hard as hell, there are so many good candidates and the Babe is the only truly undisputable one. Ditto for starting pitchers as well, so many great players to choose from and any of them could be top 5.
I'm gonna try to make a baseball team.
C - Johnny Bench
1B - Albert Pujols
2B - Roger Hornsby
3B - Mike Schmidt
SS - Ozzie Smith
OF - Ty Cobb
OF - Ted Williams
OF - Stan Musial
SP - Bob Gibson
SP - Satchel Paige
SP - Randy Johnson
SP - Nolan Ryan
SP - Sandy Koufax
CP - Mariano Rivera
I'm gonna defend my Ty Cobb pick over the likes of say Babe Ruth. When they held the 1st ever Hall of Fame vote, Ty Cobb beat Babe Ruth. Ty Cobb was the biggest asshole of his time, maybe of all time in baseball. Yet when it came to getting respect for how good he was, he beat the biggest name in baseball. To me, that proves without being there, that Ty Cobb is one of the single greatest players of all time.
