Should I buy a Xbox 360?

I don't want to start another flame war but I'm torn. I currently have a PS3 that I perfectly happy with, but I have a few friends that I'd like to play with that only have a 360. Should I break down and buy one or should I just keep my money and stay happy with my PS3.

I have both, mainly use PS3, but Xbox has the waaay better online (if you dont mind paying) I dont play with friends much, but if I did I think I would rather Xbox than PS3.

So if your friends have Xbox, I'd say its worth it, I modded a WD into a 250gb Xbox HDD for like 60 bucks ez peez so I wouldnt count HDD price against it.

I hardly ever play my xbox but that isn't the point here. I'd say you may want to wait a few days. Rumor that they might be bringing out an Xbox slim tomorrow at E3. Which already has wireless router in it. Shit sucks when you have to spend $99 just for internet. Also they might do add on deals with Natel in the near future.

I have a question, since it was brought up earlier about 360 online being better, how are the online communities? I know every community is going to have it's douchebags and 11 year olds, but would anyone that's experienced both say that one or the other has more?

when I go out with a friend of mine, sometimes we head back to their place and kill some time on their 360, and because the 360 comes packaged with a mic the chances of you encountering a retard that keeps screaming into his mic is much greater then on the PS3, having a PS3 myself, I hardly find anyone doing this in the games I play (Warhawk, MW2, GTA4) but this is because a good PS3 mic usually will run you 90$, and there are very limited bundle games that come with a blutooth headset that is actually useful.

I've used XBL a lot more, but definitely prefer the PSN. Pretty much play PS3 exclusively now. They are essentially equal I feel, just comes down to whether you want to pay 50 bucks for early/exclusive content + an arguably better home menu. Friends would be my primary reason though.

It's the gamers yearly fee that end up paying for all the bandwidth the demos consume on XBLA, where-as on PSN it comes out of the publishers' budget.

That $50 a year from what I've seen goes to Microsoft wasting money to make things 'exclusive' for a week upwards of a month, paying for the Marketplace servers, and uh.....paying for 'matchmaking' servers that just end up making the gamers host the rounds of their own bloody connections anyway.

This. My friend has an xbox where as I have a PS3, and every time I play there there seems to be a lot more ignorant kids playing XBL than when I go home and play on the PSN. But I've been contemplating the same thing, I love my PS3, but majority of my friends play xbox. Still on the fence if I want to make the jump. Tough call, I'd have to redo all my MW2 prestiges, titles, etc. etc... dunno if it's worth it.
