yeah jtagging it involves soldering some diodes and wires, and flashing a hacked file onto the xbox. no mod chips though but if you're not comfortable soldering probably shouldn't do that.
so it's only a couple bucks. but yeah, dvd flashing is uber simple and still gets you free games, just no homebrew/gotta burn the games
o shit.. i may have to do that
If you do wait for the rumored slim 360 though, there is a possibility that they will add a few more hurdles to be able to play burned discs. Or at least until the hackers figure it out.
Yup
Is this inside confirmation about slim 360? oh shit
lol.
Neither of my comments breathed fanboyism and he came in here all mad shooting his microsoft lazors. Newsflash this nigga works for microsoft.
Funny thing is I have an xbax now, in my office, only have a couple games for it tho, since they havent had much for exclusives in the past couple of years. Splintercell, Fable 2, Battlefield 2, Red Dead, Bayonetta and Fallout 3 GOTY. I do all my Mass Effectan on PC, as well as early game builds.
Quick few things i was wondering;
How current is the PS3? Is there going to be a PS4 release soon or is the PS3 going to be current generation technology for a few more years? Im comparing this to the 203 years of the 360.
Does PS3 have any hidden costs?
The only thing you really need to buy if you intend to play online and plan on talking to people, is a headset, outside of that, if you have an HD TV, HDMI should be a given and extra controllers that you would expect with any console. Everything else comes in the box in one package.
They're supposed to be announcing premium PSN plans at E3, but the current services will remain free.
PS3 isnt like the PS2/Wii/360 where they nickel and dime the shit out of people.
Not turning it into a console war since I own both. But I hated hearing people bitch about PS3 cost when it first came out since it doesn't have hidden cost like others. 360 ended up running me $150 more then my ps3.
I highly doubt there will be a new xbox or PS3 for the next 3-4 years, the way the economy is and the fact the PS3 has only been out for 4 years and finally starting to get a huge lift(as of last year) with the slim and what not, this generation still has a good amount of time to go.
There have been many analyst and spokesman from both companies that have mirrored this view.
You might see a new wii in a couple years, possibly.
Spoiler: show
PS3 was said to have a 10yr shelf life, much like the PS2, that being said you're probably going to get good use out of your PS3 from now, until 2016(10yr mark) but you could probably get even more use out of that, PS4 I wouldn't worry about that for a while, as technology advances I'm sure Sony would not rush to build a new console right now, especially with things possibly changing to 3D they'll probably wait for the development a new way to store insane amounts of data in a small space, without the use of digital distribution, my guess would be HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc - 200 GB)
Edit - sorta interesting that they claim that when on the side it says ;Capacity 1 to 10TB,they claim will eventually store 1.6 TB with a data transfer rate of 120 MB/s
I would play my PS3 alot more, but I fear losing all my saved shit if it YLOD. I'd love to make more use of my PS3, but that's pretty much only thing keeping me from playing it much. I hate the clunky xbox controller though, PS3 controller alot more comfortable for me.
If anything, the 360 has to be one of the most rushed consoles I can remember.
