According to Kotaku:
Microsoft Confirms Kinect Bundles, New $199 Xbox 360
They still have a year warranty on them. In my experience with the 2 that failed on me, it was within a year. My current one has been good for about 2.5 years now. Fan gets a bit loud sometimes though.Ask the right questions, get the right answers. An internal marketing Q&A for Microsoft about confirm that Kinect will be bundled with consoles, and a $199 configuration of its new Xbox 360 will be available this fall.
In its document, Microsoft said Kinect would be available as a standalone device and as "part of a bundle with the newly designed Xbox 360 console," but "we have no additional details about pricing or retail strategy to share at this time." Kinect bundles already sprouted up at GameStop, earlier this week, an Arcade bundle for $299 and an Elite bundle for $399.
An Arcade version of the new black Xbox 360 was also alluded to, although, read verbatim, the Microsoft document says simply:
Q: Will you sell a $199 version of the new Xbox 360?
A: We will offer a $199 Xbox 360 this fall.
There were no further details about this console's features, such as hard drive/onboard storage (if any) or WiFi, which is 250GB and internal, respectively, on the new Slim design. A $199 model would probably lack both. The current Arcade layout supports HDMI output so that would probably carry over, at least.
In case you're wondering, that's the promo shot of the 250GB layout, which one assumes will look the same externally. Microsoft has provided no images of the bundles or the $199 slim.
Gotta say I don't have an Xbox360 but been thinking about getting one just for Lost Odyssey, that game is so fucking good, easily in my top 10 RPGs, and I'm so pissed it's not on any other console. If you like RPGs (anyone) Lost Odyssey is a great reason to get an Xbox ;x (the penny arcade games on XBL are not a bad reason either!)
Jansen's hilarious, lol. I actually enjoyed the english voice acting more than the Japanese for once simply because Jansen was so well-written haha. Not to mention the rest of the voice acting was amazing too. God I wish it wasn't xbox exclusive T_T
Am I really the only person who didn't think LO was worthy of all the praise it got? Such a bland battle system, game started off well (funeral shit aside, ugh) but it just dragged on and on later in.
Best thing in the game were the dream sequences, other than that it did stretch on and gets more praise than it deserves. Vesperia is definitely a much better RPG that is only on Xbox in NA.
But Final Fantasy XIII is a masterpiece? Ugh. Not directed at you, just in general. Boring ass battle system... x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x L1+x,x,x,x,x,L1+x,x,L1+x etc. Story and characters I don't care about in the slightest, etc. Anyway, let's not make this "x rpg vs y rpg" (though my post is guilty of it!) LO had some truely great tough boss battles to it as well. Good music, and yeah those dream sequences were phenominal.
I didn't care too much for FFXIII either. The others were more fun for me. I enjoy choosing each characters' moves, plus the story lines were much deeper.
XIII battle system is pretty eh too, lays good groundwork for a nice system but they really fucked up a lot of things too, whether it's better than LO or not I can't really say, definitely found it more fun overall though (strictly speaking battle system here). Then again, I'm one of the few people out there who thinks Infinite Undiscovery is great, so I should probably be lynched.
