Yes, that is exactly right; they learned from Kings, which is why I don't think it would be a wise move to do something completely different this time, rather than use that knowledge to make an endgame which is much better from the get-go rather than deal with another lack of hindsight situation when SE implements something "revolutionary" and a year later we have a 2005 Dragon's Aery situation all over again, whatever that may be this time.
Well that's how SE operated in XI in the first place- first there was Dyna, then there was Limbus, then there was Salvage (and Einherjar and Nyzul)- all the same in the core but different enough to be considered "new pile of shit". You can't just lump them together into "raids" because of the obvious differences.I understand where you are coming from, but I'd honestly rather wade through a NEW pile of shit than a pile of shit that looks and smells the same as the pile of shit I waded through years ago. I seriously doubt SE is going to screw up their actual gear sets: I'm more concerned that they won't shy away from their competitive (read: bot-crazy) world HNM scene. I'd rather they do it through secret or hard-to-obtain special guildelves and/or instanced "Batallion" fights that they mentioned would feature linkshells teaming up to bring down a big nasty.
If they give me another Dynamis, or another Limbus, or another Salvage I'll be disappointed, because that's not the kind of endgame I am used to seeing from SE- I want to see something at least somehow different, as the tradition is. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes it's a miss, but at least they can avoid totally fucking things up like with the 3½h pain in the ass or 3h window kick in the nuts the first time they tried it.
