Then let them show it to you. Don't rule it out just because you can't think of anything.. that's what the devs are paid for, to make this shit fun and challenging.
Random speculation here, but they could have mobs that have some kind of armour that is only vunerable from a certain direction, and the vunerable point changes over the course of a fight, forcing people to watch for visual changes in the mob and reposition accordingly. Maybe not for random mobs, but for boss fights it could be interesting.
Possibly certain abilities later on will only work if your in a very specific position in relation to the mob. i'm not talking about sneak attack type moves, more things like defensive abilities that only reduce damage from a particular position.
Idk, it all depends on what your opinion of fun is, its very subjective.
Yeah.. there are already abilities like this. ARC skill that hits all mobs between him and the target, definitely more useful when it hits 3 mobs instead of one. Also GLAD skill which raises the defense of mob you're currently fighting but lowers the def of other mobs. You get the idea.
Too bad for you.
Statiscally, it's too bad for you. SE fails more often than not. The system is going to blow (or won't change a thing at best) if they leave it this way, I promise you.
lolwut.
SE has made up shit we haven't even thought about since the dawn of XI, there is no reason to assume they wouldn't continue it with XIV.
Like skillchain? Sure was fun and worked out well.
Yeah it would actually make sense that you lack faith in S-E's ability to implement their systems well but that has nothing to do with S-E's ability to make up new stuff. Your statement made no sense.
Oh you edited your message, good. Still makes no sense though. Statistics out of your ass, gogo.
Because new stuff mean good stuff? There is ideas that are bound to fail, and you don't need to be a paid game developer to tell this.
Yeah, and there are ideas that are bound to succeed. You won't create anything new if you're not willing to risk it. SE has taken the risk, always has, and that's more than you could ask from many game companies.
Of course companies that never take risks are rarely going to fail either.
The devs gotta be innovative And always succeed or it's not good enough. If you dont think SE has any chance of doing a good job of it, why are you even considering playing
The positioning system that add a useless layer of pseudo complexity to the gameplay. It's not the kind of thing that will get any praises, as most people will see it as an annoyance with the current unresponsive gameplay.
Anyway, just wait and see. I will make my mea culpa in 6 months if I'm wrong, and it turn out into a mechanics genuinely liked by a majority.
Where's the fun if everyone agree?
The real answer however is that I'm in the alpha, and that I do hope this game won't suck.
