finally, fuck yes anamanaguchi soundtrack
looking forward to the game more than the movie
Oh god yes. The visuals and the Anamanaguchi music look to be wonderful together. I do so hope there is a PC port somewhere down the road. Curse this not having a current gen system. /sadface
Edit: Nevermind, thought this was about the move for some reason
Oh man
Played the demo, then purchased the unlock as it was pretty good. But god damn this game is hard.
I beat the first level with the few lives that are given so I don't know how far you're supposed to go on those, but hopefully there are continues or saves or something. Even playing on the easiest difficulty, if you let someone get a hit off, they will combo the shit out of you.
Anyone else try it? Shame that there is no online co-op... seems to be made for it. Fuck local co-op, I'm not 12 and don't have friends over regularly.
Game had the potential to dethrone Castle Crashers if it had drop-in online multiplayer support.
Otherwise, playing the demo and enjoying it thoroughly (especially the soundtrack). Only qualm I have with the game so far is that you have next to no options for hitting people on the ground early on in. All I can do is a slide-kick, or picking the enemy up (assuming they allow me) and tossing them on the ground for a measly 2-3 damage. I'd rather use the trash cans or other objects and just beat the shit out of them. Granted you can cheese the shit out of the baddies if you uppercut them at the edge of the screen, as you'll be able to juggle them endlessly until they die, which helps at times since the
AI seems reluctant to leave the side of the screen at times also unless I backtrack to the other side of the screen.
The graphics are spectacularly crisp at 1080p and full of life.
Just not sure if I'll be picking it up now or waiting for a possible online announcement. These games are honestly a shitload more fun with 2-3 buddies and I'd rather not spoil it for myself solo.
You do way more damage once you start spending cash on food/etc. Plus you get more 'hit them while they're down' options starting at level 4-5ish. Once you get really good at it though most launchable enemies are a juggling one-hit kill. Hyper mode is pretty OP too.
Game reminds me of turtles in time. I kind of wish the sound effects were more immersive. Just hearing the whack/thwack without ambient sounds (you are at a concert right?) or VO work for any of the main characters drops the game a notch.
Played through the demo twice once my sister snuck a peak at me playing it, and apparently she's a fan of the series. >.>
Game definitely needs drop-in play, I had to restart the entire level just to get her in. Was surprised to see the game actually supported multi-account logins, I can count the amount of PS3 games that do that on the one hand.
(just a shame you can't have it apply your account to all the characters so guest players don't just waste all that money/XP for nothing unless you head into a shop and have them lend you all their cash)
Anyways, I got some comic-readin' to do now to see wtf the series is about.
This game is hard as hell in 4-player, but really really fun. We played the first three levels and got absolutely WRECKED on the third boss.
Main menu: Down Up Right Down Up Right Down Up Right Right Right (DUR DUR DURRR).
Enjoy.
(ended up buying the game >.> )
If you buy this game directly from Ubisoft's online store (http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubina/en_U...-The-Game.html) and use the coupon code 10THANKS while checking out, you get the game for a dollar off ($8.99) and a Sex Bob-omb tshirt for your PS home avatar.
Is it really good? I've been considering getting it even though I'm not really familiar with Scott Pilgrim, how does it compare to Castle Crashers? Is there lots to collect/upgrade?
Played the demo of this while I was downloading Mafia 2 and this game is a shit load of fun. The lack of online co-op is lame, but this will make a good Friday evening game when I usually have friends over and we need a game that allows 4 players locally. Pay day can't come fast enough.![]()
Just go download the demo. I'm currently enjoying it more than Castle Crashers, but that's because there's more to do with combat, where-as in CC I was mostly spamming my maxed-out ice attack with the odd whack here and there.
There doesn't seem to be any collectables as far as I'm aware, just farming cash to buy stat increases mainly.
bough the game and i love it.. but it needs online Co-Op![]()
100 Strength is absolutely broken. Hitting for 24dmg on average, and if I throw an object, it goes FLYING across the screen (and bounces off something offscreen and smacks me in the head at warp-speed). Working on capping Speed at the moment, even though I'm attacking ridiculously fast at 48 as is.
I wish I played it on the middle difficulty option, I'm on the easiest atm and didn't realize your levels, stats, money, completion, etc, carry on from difficulty to difficulty. I'll probably end up reserving one character per difficulty so I can start fresh each time, rather than bumrush the hardest one with maxed stats.
Curious if Ubisoft will add DLC for this or not. It seems that radio station on the left of the map is currently inaccessible, some people theorizing that it's possibly a zone for gathering people online if that ever gets patched in.
just to mess around I bought a bionic hand(think thats the name) from a lvl1 store gave me str+50, dunno what the other items do though. Anyone else bought them? would like to get one for speed
All items in the game just add stats or recover hearts/guts unfortunately. No collectables or anything of the sort that I could find.
Spoiler: show
Really fun game, an absolute blast as a party game. Ultimately this suffers terribly from no online support as now that my friends have left, the only thing I want to do is call them up and play online <_<.
