Finesse, you don't need to call me a troll just because you disagree with me. I don't hate you like sath does just because you believe in something silly like aliens.
oh you've moved on from letting us know what Hawking and Sagan think and feel to what I think and feel, thanks lol
y'all can just check your opinions at the door cause kuya knows what you're thinking already and will let you know when he needs to
I believe in fortune cookiology yo
Kuya always stops posting when shit gets serious. He's a pacifist
yo titans i think umad
at discount tires now, read this shit, read my sign. apparantely I am a pisces. most of it is me. girlfriend i have been with, the first girl i actually truly care about is a taurus. longest relationship yet. ex was a gemini. http://www.gotohoroscope.com/pisces-compatibility.html coincidences with both. and lolmarrige.
I know you're a troll but I'll answer anyways. There are signs of alien life within out own solar system, albeit simple lifeforms, but alien life none the less. Saying there is no evidence only proves a lack of understanding on your part. Or in your case a willingness to provoke a response as such.
Astrology involves horoscopes, but horoscopes arent the focal point.
The commercialized astrology? yeah, pretty bad. But, astrology is the oldest science(pseudo-scince) in history and was the beginning of astronomy. Commercialized? Yeah.. there are actually 13 houses in astrology, although they round it down to 12 just to make an even number.
No one believes in astrology because they read horoscopes on msn.com. A lot of people make judgements on astrology without even reading anything about it, which is similar to christians making judgements on mostly everyone they dont understand before they read anything about what they dont understand.
Can you really hate something so malleable and misunderstood? Its just a correlation of relating human's at their time of birth to the alignment of the planets and the electromagnetism that forms ~you~.
Ive read lots and lots, and was skeptical myself, but a little bit more indepth info and it makes more sense. Especially when you consider there are multiple signs in your whole chart.
im just ranting, i fucking hate every one of you.
I haven't read the thread, so idk if this has been brought up already. If it has then ignore me. Outside of the fact that it's ridiculous, it's also not even accurate. There are actually 13 constellations of the zodiac and most peoples signs don't coincide with the constellations. Based on popular Astrology I'd be a Capricorn, but in reality I'm a Sagittarius. If any of you think that your horoscope was accurate you have to realize you likely aren't reading the 'right' horoscope. What do people who were born when the Sun passes through the Ophiuchus constellation read? Or are they so special they don't need horoscopes?
The probability coupled with some of the general laws of large numbers suggest that not only is alien life in the universe likely, but almost assured. That, however, does not mean that there is any. If the probability of something happening is asymptotically close to 100% there still always exists some probability that the negative of that something is true.
I'm not sure if the term "belief" in this situation is correctly or incorrectly used as I don't know specifically what lecture or whatever you're quoting (although in all likelihood Sagan did believe in aliens as evidenced by his passion for connecting the wonder of the cosmos to the public.) Sagan was extremely passionate with bringing the public to the science in a way everyone can understand, Hawking is also to a much lesser extent, his passion is primarily about answering the questions in his own mind and he just happens to be very outspoken for a guy who speaks out of a computer.
Either way, probabilistically there is alien life, but that doesn't mean there IS alien life. I think it was Tyson who made the connection in order of the ingredients of our bodies and the percentage of matter in the universe:
Order of highest percentage of each element in our body / Order of highest % of each element in the universe
#1 Hydrogen / #1 Hydrogen
#2 Carbon / #2 Carbon
#3 Oxygen / #3 Oxygen
#4 Nitrogen / #4 Nitrogen
We are life based on Carbon, the second most plentiful element in the universe. Carbon is the most active element in the universe as far as bonding goes. Carbon can form more different bonds than all other elements we know of put together. If Carbon is the best basis for the creation of it there is definitely enough of it in the universe.
This, of course, needs to be put in perspective. Intelligent life? Bacteria? Single-cell life? The probability of single-cell life is astronomically higher than the probability of intelligent life but is still extremely rare.
Multi-cellular life on Earth took 3.5 billion years to come about.
Most of what we /know/ about the universe comes from using intuition to deduce an answer from experimentally untestable scenarios. We can't experimentally verify dark energy (a placeholder name for something we don't understand) but we know that it exists.
My money is on single-cell life being plentiful in the universe with intelligent life being rare on the order of such that we will never, ever, ever encounter it.

Your social life kicks up a notch today -- with or without your efforts. It may be a really good time for you to ask someone out, or to head out on the town with people you don't know all that well yet.
Man this was surprisingly true, it has been a long time since I last felt this good about stuff.
And it wasn't with my efforts, it was mainly caused by an email I received earlier today.
Coincidence? Probably haha, but gives a good laugh sometimes.
There are 14 constellations in the zodiac. Even the number they're rounding down from is wrong (according to whatever information you're referencing.)
Also, if you honestly try to reference electromagnetism's effect on the human body from constellations in the universe I will explode your face. That is so wrong I can't even begin to properly express it without just over-sciencing you.
Your "research" is wrong. Period.
Edit: For the people in thread who aren't idiots and are curious the MAXIMUM strength of the Earth's magnetic field is 0.6 Gauss.
To compare a refrigerator magnet has ~50 Gauss give or take.
