2010 NHL Offseason Thread

For me, it has nothing to do with him being a Flyer, it just feels like more of the same. Basically everyone not named Crosby, Malkin, and Staal is a similar player to Asham on our roster. I really think Asham may be a replacement to someone getting traded in the future, though, so at 700k, why not?

I've got to be honest. I'm expecting at least 20 goals out of Tangradi this season. He's going to get pushed up to Crosby's line very quickly to replace Guerin's size and grit. Tangradi also plays with an edge which is good considering not too many people on the Pens roster have the balls to hang out in front of the net.

If Staal could get over his fear of standing in front of the net (if he's not fearful of it I don't know why he's not standing there), then he would be that big body in front of the net for Malkin at least.

To be honest if we could get Malone back by trading Kunitz and maybe Goligoski, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Has nothing to do with my dislike for Goligoski either, I'm just assuming by the contracts because I don't really recall Malone's and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Ehhh... Tampa REALLY overpayed for Malone IIRC, at least 4mil, maybe 5mil/yeah cap hit. I remember 7 years for sure and its in the 30-35mil range.

Yeah, see... Kunitz and Goligoski could cover the price for now. I'd be really apprehensive to trade Goligoski though to be honest, but we have quite a few decent defensive prospects, I'd take the chance for Malone.

Kunitz is, I know its not saying much, our best winger right now, so if we traded him, its a sidegrade, slight upgrade at the most. We need to keep Kunitz, even if he SHOULD be a 30 goal scorer on Crosby's wing. If Colby motherfuck Armstrong can get 20-25 with Sid, Kunitz should have 30.

And I agree, but this is now the second full year with him on Crosby's wing. If he doesn't show signs of improvement with all of these things he should be doing on Crosby's wing, I think it's time to make that side grade in getting Malone, who has proven himself to be quite an asset on Malkin's line.

Kunitz shouldn't be a first-line winger, on any roster. But the Rangers' forward Corp is nothing to write home about either. Though it's going to be slightly better this year.

Yep! We already took signups, but we reserved a spot for you incase you missed those couple days everyone was talking about it. The one thing though, with you, is you can't pick all Canadiens. It really (no offense to the Canadiens) makes your team weak and anyone playing you was almost ensured of a win that week, last year. We've even been toying around with a rule for everyone of a maximum of 3 homer picks (Thoronas can't pick more than 3 Canucks, I can't pick more than 3 Penguins, Callisto can't pick more than 3 Blackhawks, etc).

So exemple today it's MTL againt Pitts then we log in on the game and play vs each other like a real season

Oh yeah Im down for NHL11 online with you turds in a couple weeks, I been playing the hell out of the demo on Ultimate Fantasy team (usually can get 6, occasionally 7 "3rd period only" games out of one "demo" try) trying to figure out all the deke moves.

Anyone find any interesting cards? I've once got a +5 ALL card for Skaters, used it on Malkin and he turned like super human. Hall/Seguin are really good in this game and Tyler Myers is a fucking beast.

Is this your first NHL*year* game by EA Sports?

The computer is good at avoiding hits, and tbh, hits aren't very advised vs. people or the PC. Especially this year's edition, hits seemed to be gimped unless they're the new hip checks.

Scoring I mainly go for garbage/rebound goals around the net or slap shots from the point.
