Winter Classic stuff

Ticket shit is bullshit.

All season ticket holders get chance to buy seats. (20k)
Washington got 20k tickets, presumably for season ticket holders. (20k)
15k miscellaneous for promotions, Steelers orginization, NHL orginization. (15k)

Leaving 10k seats for an estimated 250,000+ lottery entries. Penguins STHs have a legitimate right to seats since they're only getting 40 home games otherwise, but the Caps getting 20,000 is bullshit. Caps fans, STH or not, should all have to be in the lottery with the general public and non-STH Pens fans.

Presuming all the Washington non-STHs for the are amongst the 250,000, it'd only make 270,000 competing for 30,000 (1 in 9) instead of this 1 in 25 bullshit they're estimating.

And I've gone to the NHL store a few times, always been sort of meh about it. Could also just be because I hate that part of Manhattan. One cool thing is they use hockey laces for the strings on their shopping bags.

It's still not very impressive. You would think for being the NHL store in New York fucking City it would be much more glamorous and spectacular.

The determination Ryan Kesler showed going for that loose puck and resulting ENG at the Olympics is why America is great. When that first happened I was overwhelmed with pride for my country. America has so many feel good moments. Its a shame the only "feel good moment" in recent Canadian history was ruined by a faulty hydraulic.

If you call doing whats expected of you "feel good," sure. Tell me what Americans would've made a bigger deal about - Phelps winning gold, or if the Americans had won Gold in hockey?

Upsetting England in 18th century.

Armstrong flexing more nuts at the winner's podium than the entire country of France.
Boise State shocking Oklahoma.

Everyone cheers for the little guy, everyone loves the underdog. Winning when you're expected to do nothing but win is hardly comparable. Hell, even Phoenix got mad support, outside of those who were already Detroit fans, when they pushed the Wings to 7.

Oh it wasn't just the hockey win that I was referring to with that post, it was the 14th gold to break the record, at home, on the final day of the olympics at home. So yeah I would say that was a feel good moment.

Quite possibly the greatest game ever, of any sport. Still get goosebumps watching highlights of it thinking about how amazing it first was watching it live and being just as shocked as Oklahoma's D was at the plays and then going for the win rather than the tie, Johnson proposing, its just unbelievably perfect.

This just goes without saying, but Boise State is pretty awesome. With or without blue turf they're just fun to watch....(but the blue turf helps add to them being awesome.) Loved seeing them smack Oklahoma in the mouth, like sup bitch, we've arrived.

Sorry to say Sepukku but the moments you posted are great events, but team Canada winning gold at home the entire nation shared does not even compare. The entire nation was watching and exploded when the kid scored the winning goal. Enough of trying to cover your ass during your spaz fest on the forums after USA lost.

Team USA will compete for gold in Russia, assuming there is a deal made by IOC/NHL/IHF. Man gonna be epic failure if no deal is made as IOC and NHL need the deal for the Olympics. No one gives a fuck about a NHL ran world cup. I hated the Canada Cup. Lol.
