THEY SHOULD BE THANKFUL
Niemi isn't that good... he had a good team in front of him combined with the "plays big when the pressure is greatest" trait that some players (*coughFleurytakingnapsintheregularseason*) have. I would not be surprised to see him go sophmore-Steve-Mason on whoever signs him, although the Sharks will not be too much of a drop in terms of the quality of the team in front of him.
Also random stat of the day I just noticed going over stats from last season:
With only 67 Games Played, Malkin accumulated 100 PIM without any majors or misconducts - an outright 50 minor penalties in 67 games.
Freaking goon lol.
This is unacceptable Isladar. WE MUST FITE
Niemi took advantage of the team in front of him as much as they used him to their advantage. He's a good goalie but the true test will be what he does without the Hawks D helping him, I expect his numbers to go up a bit from last year. In the same boat, Turco had similar numbers to Niemi, with a terrible D in front of him in Dallas, and I expect his numbers to go down from last year slightly. Niemi isn't the second coming of Patrick Roy, but he can make clutch saves when needed and I expect he'll use the playoff run as a learning tool to become an overall better goalie. He just has to know how to get above that ceiling when he hits it, otherwise suffer the same fate as Tim Thomas who was outstanding and then suddenly fell off and has yet to return to form from a few seasons ago.
If Teeth and Seabrook continue to play well I think Turco's numbers should improve. No idea how Blackhawks third D pairing looks though.
It depends how they do the pairings really. I'm not sure if they're gonna pair up Hjalmarsson with Campbell and then Boyton with Hendry, or split it up to put one of those other guys with Campbell and put Hammer on the third line to even things out. Also have John Scott to play in too as a rotation or full game sub so yeah...
I'll have my revenge some day.
That is fucking fantastic lol
Sorry for not being around for a few days. I blame...the weather...makes it impossible to think hockey!
BUT I'm picking up my Rangers tickets in the morning!
and finally registered my fantasy team: The Dubinator!
Read that as Dublinator, was all like "fuuuuuuuuuuck yea Ireland!" Then I reread it lol.
Lol. Not even sure where The Dubinator! came from...have another played themed name, but I'm using it for another league.
Honestly though...$10 says I do the same thing I did last season...drunkenly change my team name right before the live draft.
GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!!!
It's a Sunday, isn't it?
Wouldn't be much of a stretch for me. Sunday is always Sunday Funday out watching Football. Fortunately last year my friends were too drunk to give me crap for bailing to draft my fantasy team.
So actually...I won't be getting drunk for the draft, but I will likely be drunk anyway.
