Woooooooooow. NY Post has a story up that the NHL is going to kill the Kovalchuk deal, the Hossa deal and the Luongo deal unless the NHLPA agrees to put limitations on all future multi-year contracts.

Yessssssss its like the last Sunday in September, so like 25 days. NHL11 in 5 days!!! Getting it at midnight and playing til at least 3-4 AM even though I have work at 8 AM in the morning. Thats what they invented energy drinks for!

I totally believe it, though I'm slightly worried about it. These sorts of contracts are likely going to be a big negotiating point when the CBA comes up...one would hope both sides realize they cant afford another strike or lockout, but you never can tell.

And speaking of crazy days...

October 11th I'm getting a group of friends to go out to LI for a Rangers v. Islanders game at 1:00PM, then I'm hauling ass back into the city, and out to Jersey to see Jets v. Vikings at 8:00!

Yeah seems pretty overblown. Trying to completely re-write the CBA two years before they enter another collective bargaining agreement.

Also minor factual errors in that the Luongo contract is in its first year not second year.

If it does turn out to be true they're smart releasing the news at the beginning of the long weekend.

Actually considering Ovie has a steady girlfriend (Victoria Lopyreva for you Google image hunters) and Kaner's got a different girl in every picture I've seen of him since June, I'm guessing you all know where you can catch the herp.

Edit: Actually Lopyreva's his former girlfriend, apparently the new one is Valeria Sokolova, another model, lol.
