Still surprised the B's aren't offering a 2nd-rounder or something to swap the #1 and #2 picks, it's clear that despite both players being talented as all hell, Edmonton really, really needs a star center, and Boston already has too many of them.

Edit: Looks like the Hawks made their qualifying offer to Niemi, but not yet to Ladd, Hendry, or most importantly, Hjalmarsson.

That's the thing, Hall is a Centre too. He just played wing in Windsor because he made the team as a 15 year old and they had all 4 C's taken. So he made the switch to Wing.

I'm praying Khabi gets charged so the Oilers can just wash their hands of that contract.

The Florida Panthers have traded defenseman Keith Ballard to the Vancouver Canucks, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.
Florida will ship Ballard and Victor Oreskovich to Vancouver for winger Steve Bernier, forward Michael Grabner and the Canucks' first-round pick, No. 25 overall.
The deal is currently pending league approval.
Ballard had eight goals and 20 assists in 82 games this past season for the Panthers.
