Penguins first four picks:
RW
RW
RW
LW
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
They should be good to go in about 3 years, just in time for Crosby to become a UFA and sign with the Caps.
Firstly, Kessel* could very well be a 40+ goal scorer, he's had two 30 goal seasons, one with testicular cancer, the other with 12 games missed on the TML, second worst team in the league (without a training camp). To say that Burke was owned makes no sense, and will really only be found out when Seguin develops into an NHLer and turns out to be vastly better than Kessel.
Also, it wasn't for Kaberle, it was for Schenn.
Surprised no one has mentioned that San Jose is trading the rights to Nabokov to Philly. So much for the Flyers getting passed the first round of the playoffs.![]()
Whatever happened to Emery? He was supposed to be their #1 and then just fell off the end of the Earth after getting injured. Was his surgery unsuccessful or what?
No, the Flyers just turn their back on their goalie any chance they get.
He has a degenerative disease in his hips that is caused by loss of bloodflow to bones/joints resulting in necrosis.
He's most likely done for his career.
Well, SJS coulda been the finals had they scored ya know, more than 7 goals in 4 games.
Plus the D that'd be in front of him is loads better than what he had in SJ. In any case, it seems like he's dead set on testing the FA market. If the Flyers could get him for 2 years @ ~8-9m I wouldn't be totally opposed, but they have other needs, and as evidenced by both teams in the finals, you just need someone competent if you've got the scoring/D.
Looking for rumors and whatnot, came across this:

Some of the funnier ones so far:

According to my sources within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, the Colorado Avalanche are willing to part with RW Milan Hejduk, a 7th round pick and a 2nd round pick to obtain the services of C Evgeni Malkin. Remember, you heard it here first! (I'd do it)

Hawks got out their qualifying offers to Ladd and Hjalmarsson, thankfully in time. Hope both re-sign without much hassle.
How do SJ fans feel about signing Wallin for 2.5 million and effectively having this as your D next year:
11mil to sign 6 Fowards and 2 Goalies means you're not really upgrading that Defense. SJ is a lot less scary to me as a Stars fan in the Pacific if this is how it stays. Not that our D is any better tho hah.Patrick Marleau (6.9) - Joe Thornton (7.2) - Dany Heatley (7.5)
????? - Joe Pavelski (4.0) - Ryane Clowe (3.625)
?????- Torrey Mitchell (1.3) - Scott Nichol (.74)
????? - ?????? - ?????
Boyle (6.66) - Murray (2.5)
Vlasic (3.1) - Wallin (2.5)
Huskins (1.7) - Demers (.5)
Total: 48.28 Million
Room left: 11.22 Million
All I know is,
I have a good feeling the Kings can win the division next year.

Farewell to Sopel, he's a hell of a stand-up guy, the city's going to miss him.
