We have rights to Ellis, we still have Price...we have like 2 decent AHL goalies. I guess Ellis was just to get rid of Kostitsyn? shrug

Everyone is reporting that Ellis is going to sign with another team. I'm as confused as you are about the Auld signing.

Short story: Ellis wants(and deserves) more than what MTL wants to spend on a #2 guy, so serious contract talks never got rolling with him. I think they intended to attempt a signing when they traded for his rights rather than it being a flat-out salary dump with Kostitsyn, it's just they probably offered him a laughable amount.

Elaborating on whats been reported. Zbynek Michalek to the Pens for FIVE YEARS. Ive seen like 2 Phoenix games all year, both against Detroit. Thats a long time to sign someone, does anyone even know like what style he plays? Hitting? Enforcer? Shutdown D? General all-around good but not great at anything like No Beaton Mark Eaton?
