Elaborating on whats been reported. Zbynek Michalek to the Pens for FIVE YEARS. Ive seen like 2 Phoenix games all year, both against Detroit. Thats a long time to sign someone, does anyone even know like what style he plays? Hitting? Enforcer? Shutdown D? General all-around good but not great at anything like No Beaton Mark Eaton?

Stay-at-home/shutdown guy. Doesn't really score goals but he averages like 22 minutes of ice time and doesn't make too many giant fuckups.

Just read an press release by the Pens. Seems he led the league in Blocked Shots a year ago. Good. Seems he played for the Czechs in the Olympics. Good. Seems they're paying him 4mil a year. Ehhhh....

Serious question here, fanboy aside....do the Hawks have ANY big/physical guys? We dumped Eager, Buff. Burish is currently sitting by his phone waiting to see if he'll be back or not next year. I can't help but think they need to sign him, just to have someone out there that's gonna drop the gloves for team mates. Also, if we move Sharp, heads will roll.

Depends if they can afford to bring up Beach or not, though Ladd is a pretty underrated nasty forechecker imo. As of right now though, not really.

That's what could fuck things up, if he gets an outside offer sheet, though Bowman seems pretty confident that none of the RFAs will be getting any. All of them but Hendry got their qualifying offers, and it seems they expect to re-sign Hendry as a UFA for similar money to what he's making now.

Things look pretty rough at the moment in terms of keeping Sharpie. If you count Huet being gone they have $9.7m~ in space right now, and 12 people under contract, they have to find at least 10 other bodies to sign.
