Ducks announce signing of Saku Koivu to two year deal.
Whoa!
So much for the Ducks rebuilding.
Still going to miss the playoffs.
Chicago refuses to dump there players back into the Western ConferenceI feel bad for the Hawk fans, however it's the price to pay to keep Toews, Kane, Seabrook & Keith combined with the cap.
Lolz x 100000 @ Flames fans. I have no idea what Sutter is thinking, but maybe it's time for him to step down. Feel bad for IggyCanucks gotta dump $ money, someone offer us a 1st round & 2nd rounder for Bieska.
Hmm, Kings & Wings have been quiet. Would not surprise me to see Kovalchuk as a King. Rumour Wings are considering picking up Modano as he's from Michigan. Wouldn't seem right for him to play on a Canadian team. I like the Paul Martin pickup by the Penguins as it's a bit high, but a better choice then Gonchar imo. Finally a BC boy i can cheer for in a Canucks uniform in Hamhuis.
Wonder if that means Selanne will be back too then, I think his decision was hinging on Koivu's.
That part would be acceptable, the part that hurts is that in reality it's the price to keep Brian Campbell for 6 more years. Highest-paid guy on the team by 800k/year, and a no-trade clause.
I have to wonder, why the hell Tallon didn't structure Campbell's contract to that of how he did with Hossa, where it goes down over time for a less cap hit.
That doesn't affect the cap hit, cap hit is straight dollars/years, the tapered pay just encourages the player to retire before the contract is up so that his hit comes off the books when he ages/skills decline.
Oh. Well then carry on, nothing to see here with my question.
Burrish to Dallas lol
A sad day.
And a wise move on me, not buying his jersey knowing it was a contract year and he may not last. Ffffffffffffffffffffff
Should just get Kariya back so they can have a 3some![]()
Good news: I think I'll be able to afford Opening Day tickets so I can see the banner get raised
Bad news: It'll be at Philips Arena
Sharks signed Nittymaki for 2yrs 4mil. Seems decent stat wise. Anyone have any info on him?
Awesome. He seemed to have an overall pretty decent GAA, think was 2.87 so we'll see. If he can maintain that average we should be good since we can easily manage 3+ average a game on offense.
He's pretty much worse than Nabokov, but he's only played 2 postseason games so he isn't a proven postseason meltdowner.
Chicago's UFAs getting overpaid out the ass, lol.
Also Bobby Ryan turning down 5 years at 5 mil per because... he wants a shorter deal. Interesting.
Yea, I really don't know what to think about this. Yea letting Nabby go was the right decision. It didn't make sense to tie up 5-7mil a year in a 35 year old goal tender who will want a minimum of 3-4 years and it let us re-sign pavelski and marleau.
