There's still No Beaton Mark Eaton, it just won't be on the Pens. Hope he lands on another team well represented on BG so we can continue the tradition.

Also Bobby Ryan turning down 5 years at 5 mil per because... he wants a shorter deal. Interesting.

Maybe he wants out of Anaheim? Can't imagine he thinks he's worth much more than what the offer is. Kudos to Murray for making it public that Ryan's rejecting a pretty damn good offer.

Just a quick note on that:

Even thought he Dispatch is THE newspaper here in Columbus, they're constantly wrong about CBJ "insider" news. During the whole coaching search they kept saying "Sources" told them that Kevin Dineen was already hired in principle and the club was just going through the motions with the other interviews. Even up to the day before Guy Boucher was offered and Arniel was offered after Boucher rejected, the Dispatch said Dineen was already the coach and they were just awaiting the official word from the front office.

That said, I love Filatov's potential, but I'd gladly give him up if it lands us a top Defenseman, and I've heard this rumor swirling from a few different sources now, seems to be some type of truth behind it.

I hope he comes to Philly somehow. They're saying Gagne is out of Philly, which would really upset me, but they need to move someone because they're tight right now.

Huet being in AHL or Europe is already a foregone conclusion, when TSN was showing the cap #s yesterday they weren't even counting his contract towards their numbers.

Is there anywhere that outlines the NTC conditions on player contracts? I've noticed that capgeek.com mentions if they have one, and then a little extra like limited, full, etc..., but nothing in depth. Trying to figure out what jerseys to buy during the off season is driving me insane, whenever I buy one that person is gone within a year.

Typically NTCs aren't all that different, the player can pick between 3 to 8 teams that he'd be willing to go to, once he submits his list of teams his current team has a window to trade him(usually 45 or 60 days).

That said, a guy can flat-out waive his NTC if he really wants to go, and sometimes the team can ask him nicely to waive it if they really want him gone.
