Wouldn't wanna use the "F word" accidently around Paul Bissonnette. He's a goon. Lol.

Panthers' marketing is quick, but goddamn $6 per seat per game season tickets.
Sharks have an offer sheet to Hjallmarson... 4 yrs, $14m
Dun dun duunnnnnnnnnn
Oh god damnit! =/ Hawks have 7 days to match now.
If they don't match, Hawks would get a 1st and 3rd round pick.
I think they will. 3.5 a year doesn't seem that bad but not sure how much room they have even after making all those trades.
That's the one instance this offseason where the picks aren't going to cut it, he's a pretty integral part of the next few years. Hawks will more than likely match and the Sharks know this, their just driving up his price to be dicks lol.
Think this will affect Chi's chances of resigning Niemmi?
Just wondering, do players have the option to turn down offer sheets from outside teams?
They can technically afford both pending how Niemi's arbitration comes out(I think it'd be somewhat favorably towards the team since he's still pretty unproven overall), but they'd need to fill out the rest of the roster with minimum-salary players after signing the two of them.
Actually now that I look closer at it, they have basically $9.2m to sign 8 roster spots. No way they can spend $7m+ on two guys, one of the two between Hammer and Niemi are probably gone.
The Hawks still need to make moves to fill out their roster unless they wait until the end of the offseason to do all of their moving, this guarantees Hjalmarsson or Niemi (or someone who will make about the same amount) or both being gone.
And the offer sheet means Hjamarsson has agreed to play with the Sharks, and the option to Hawks have is to match the contract or let him go.
The worst part is myself and pretty much everyone I know was planning on getting Hjalmarsson as their next jersey![]()
Bunch of fucking fucks in San Jose, seriously. And major fist shaking at Stan Bowman for not thinking someone was going to try this, and getting the contract done before this happened.
Well the fact that he signed it means he was probably already trying to muscle a bit more money out of the Hawks than what they have to give, they likely offered him something in the $2.5m~ range which is pretty fair, but you can't really do much when you're up against the cap and the guy wants more money.
Man if we lose him in addition to Sopel, we're going to be hurting badly on defense. This is not a good situation. One thing I can see them doing now, is keeping the Hammer, and letting Niemi go, since they still have Huet...and then calling up Crawford. This is a terrible worst case scenario, sadly it's one that may come to fruition.
UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.
Trade you Souray for Campbell straight up!
It'll be a wash salary-wise though.
Huet's gone either way, Crawford is most likely the #2 either way, but if the #1 isn't Niemi it'll be some FA they pick up for $2m probably.
Keeping Hjalmarsson makes more sense than keeping Niemi if they have the same price tag, the guy's a real talent and completely fearless when it comes to blocking shots and taking a hit to make an outlet pass. Niemi made some great plays down the stretch, but the bulk of his success last year was due to him facing less shots than the majority of the goalies in the league.
