I said in the weeks leading up the regular season that in the wake of his family tragedy he would have a monster year playing for the memory of his son and everyone was like no, no, no Varlamov is the man, and look what fucking happened, and STILL no one gives me or him any credit.

At this point I just want Kovie to sign somewhere so we can stop hearing about these hundred million dollar contracts being thrown around. I will laugh if his contract ends up being larger than all other free agents that sign from now on combined.

Edit: Also can someone explain to me why Gagne is being run out of town? I keep hearing he is about to be traded but I thought Philly liked him.

Need to get rid of someone and he is a UFA after this coming season. He has a no-trade clause though and has not waived it though, so there have been some ridiculous and unsubstantiated rumors that he would be put on waivers (lol).

Funny thing is Chicago lets Niemi walk he won't have a job anywhere, no one's looking for a Goalie esp at the bonus he's probably looking for. Niemi's fucked, he pretty much has to take what Chicago offers him.

Really shitty time to be a Goalie in the NHL. Even more ironic is its pretty much Niemi's fault that this trend is going on.
