CSN replaying Hawks vs Canucks. Right, naooooow, as Eddie O would say. Oh how I miss hockey already.
No Trade clause doesn't mean, no trade period. It usually means no trade during a certain time period, only trade to certain teams and/or other things along those lines.
At this point it basically means the team has to ask you nicely before they trade you lol, hell they could put you on waivers if they really wanted, they'd just get nothing in return if someone claimed you, and pay you your full salary in the AHL if you clear them.
Well, some players have not only a no trade clause, but also a no movement clause meaning you can't send them down the minors either.
Makes me laugh how NTC's are basically a player's way of signing with multiple teams in a sense. "Yeah, I'll play here, but if you wanna trade me, it's gotta be to somewhere in California."
Sorta limits trade options too if a player starts being a douchebag. I'd purposely trade them to the opposite of where they'd wanna go, if it wasn't for NTCs.
"Oh sorry, you said California? Long Island is close right? .... right? Well, enjoy playing on a team with one decent player with NYI. Say hi to Tavares, and congratulate the rest of that AHL franchise in an NHL uni when you get there."
2010-11 Islanders: This year's version of the 2009-10 Montreal. P.K. Subban morphs into Mark Eaton, details at 10.
I'm hearing that Carcillo resigned with the Flyers. I'm really not a fan of that guy. Was hoping he wouldn't come back. haha
They need at least one guy who sums up the last 40 years of Flyer hockey.
Haha.. Yeah I'd rather not. Just read he's only a one year contract. So whatevs. I'm not even a Flyer's fan and I hate this guy coming back here. Half of my friends love him and half of them hate him. I just can't see how anyone likes this guy and ask them that constantly.
I like Carcillo. He's top 3 in penalties drawn and top 5 in penalty differential. He's an agitator and when he plays with Richards it allows for two people pounding away at the forecheck.
I love the signing by itself, I just don't like the timing of it.
Hey, when you have someone bitch about their team, and then hand you a list like "I want out, but I'll only go to _____ or _____. Otherwise, I'll sit here and be a fucking crybaby while I make millions playing a fucking kids' game." it's pretty sad.
Then of course the team is handcuffed, because all 29 other teams know that player wants out, and you're desperate to move them, so they can lowball the asking price. I figure if a player is gonna be a cancer in a dressing room, you may as well fuck them over back and not just give them what they want.
Prime example was last summer:
So Heatley only wants to go to California and bawww at a trade to another team (Edmonton) last summer? Fuck him, tell him and his goofy eyeball that he's off to Florida. Granted the Oil finished dead last in the league last year, but what's the point in signing a contract to play somewhere, when you're just gonna give a list of potential other teams you'd play for later on? Trades are part of the game. You want out? Deal with the fact that a GM is gonna do what's in his team's best interest when he moves your ass. Not just end up taking SFA because you don't wanna play in _____ city.
Players should just stfu and do what they're told amirite? If the GM is gonna give out a NTC why shouldn't the player use it? He earned that right.
