I know things get a bit different when wives/kids get in the mix but personally I think it'd be badass to get to see a whole new city, being traded doesn't seem like that big of a deal since you're still getting paid stupid amounts of money for playing a great game.

From what little Ive read about players reactions to trades it can be pretty brutal when you've set up a life for yourself in a city. You know where to get good pizza, cheap beer, hookers that understand the concept of privacy. Suddenly you get calls from some local radio jack off about your response to being traded across the continent for a bag of pucks or whatever. Shit would suck.

Granted if you know you're a plug and are likely to get traded you can prepare for it. I know Wellwood didn't even bother getting himself an apartment last year until he knew he was going to be staying until a least March.

I just think players get painted in a bad light for utilizing aspects of their contracts that they negotiated in good faith. But fuck Heatley.
