So, Kovie basically now has 2 years to win and after that, have fun in NJ with no goaltending.

Glad this is over. While Kovalchuk is a great scoring talent, his lack of leading a team into the playoffs and never having proved anything in the NHL playoffs did worry me.

Im sure the Kings will now make trades to improve the team.

Terms are unknown atm but reports are its the 7 years at 60 mil so 8.5 mil cap hit.

Kings just can't afford that if they want to keep Doughty, Johnson and Simmonds.

I honestly didn't see him going anywhere else, I really wanted him to, but the big piece was good ol' Jacues "Employ the Trap!" Lemaire retiring from coaching. Different team mentality, all the pieces are there, seems like a win/win for him.

Lol. Oddly enough this offseason has been one of the most active in awhile. I'm just glad he's staying out of the west.
