reports are that Kovie's deal is 17y/$100+m, guessing there'll be some sort of meaningless investigation if that timeframe is correct.

and if Gagne is ending up in TB that's starting to look like them having a pretty nice set of forwards, at least their top 6, interested to see how they'll do this year.

Nobody could possibly be that dumb. Can they? 8.82m cap hit for 17 years... would either mean he would still likely be paid ~6m+ at the age of 44 or his contract starts at the cap and stays there for several years.

Re-signed all their RFAs, pretty sure they're still looking to pick up another D via trades, maybe Bieksa or something.

Next year is going to be their major free-agency year as is, and I've seen several say that they're playing it safe this offseason in case next year's new CBA tosses out some curveballs.

In going with Kovalchuk's "sign for the same number of years as your jersey number," Crosby has reportedly already signed an extension for his contract, rumored at 87 years, $200 million.

First good Hawks news of the offseason, they've re-signed Jack Skille who figures to play a pretty sizable role this year, and managed to get him to take a 50% pay cut from last year's salary.
