Yeah I didn't mean it in a bitter way, just pointing out
I have been to pre-season games and well, yeah, it's fun and all but it's not what I want. Especially when we got so close to the real thing this last few months lol

Wonder if that'll be when Toews takes his Cup day, he did say he'll be carting it around Winnipeg.
What the fuck is a moose voucher.
MOOSE VOUCHER.
[edit] Holy hell I love being me.
Fuck.
Idk if this was posted, was played after the game (Obviously) pretty awesome summary of 2 months in 4 minutes.

Speaking of Bertuzzi, he just signed a 2 year extension for $3.875m with the Wings. Not bad at all if he can put up 40-50 pts again, although I sure as hell won't stop complaining about his lazy ass.
The funny thing about Bertuzzi, with him being a lazy ass, he was the savior of the Wings for like a two week stretch of injuries. I think he had like 3 or 4 game winners lol, in a shoot out non the less.
I posted it in the last thread, but it was on youtube so was probably taken down at some point.
And yeah, Bertuzzi played like a beast for like a week during the stretch of the season where the Wings were incredibly injured. Unfortunately he also played like shit for portions of the season too. Babcock has said he'll probably be playing with either Datsyuk or Zetterberg or both for most of the season (planned) so he could potentially put up 60+, but I'd be happy with 40 and him being less lazy.
What decent prospects do the Wings even have? It seems like they'll for the most part be bringing back just the same team next year, but an even older version. Abdelkader/Helm/Ericsson/Filppula seems like a meh core to build around.
I like Helm but the rest of that list is definitely meh. Hopefully they can find some more ridiculous value picks like Zetterberg/Datsyuk
Tomas Tatar is the only guy in the system right now that seems like he could be a star. He was the youngest player in the AHL this year and had a good first half, but the season wore on him during the second half. There are a handful of others in the system with some potential, but most aside from Tatar seem to be 2nd liners at best, more likely 3rd or 4th liners. They have 5 years or so to get a few more very good prospects before it is time to hit the oh shit button though.
Mike Yeo named Houston Aeros head coach. Thank GOD he's gone, now maybe our powerplay will actually be as scary as it looks on paper.
Also Filppula is a fine guy to build with, he's not fantastic but is a ~50ish point guy, with potential for more. He is also a very good defensive center. Not a build your team around type guy, but a good player. Helm has potential but will likely be a career 3rd/4th line center unless he develops some hands. He probably would have had about 25 goals last year if his stick skills weren't garbage. Ericsson showed potential in the '09 playoffs, but managed to be fucking terrible this year. Like, drew compliments that said he could be the next Lidstrom, and then made people cringe if he was not scratched. I have no idea how he will turn out. Abdelkader had been told to go out and hit as many people as possible every time he has played in the NHL so it is difficult to accurately gauge his talent. I think he may develop into a 2nd liner at some point though.
The other young guys, Ritola, Eaves, and Miller, are also not too bad. Miller will likely be a 3rd line type player, if he improves his game might be able to handle 2nd line stuff. Eaves I think has a ton of potential and could be a better reclamation project than Cleary. 20 goals in his rookie season before flaring out and not doing so well in the following couple, and then sparks of brilliance last year make me very hopeful for him. Ritola has seemed good and could end up on any line, only time will tell.
Things aren't great since of course there probably aren't any Datsyuks or Zetterbergs waiting for their shot at the NHL, but the Wings aren't horribly fucked unless none of the guys I mentioned work out (which is certainly possible). Also the Wings have been pretty good at poaching guys from Euro leagues outside of the draft, so there is always that option too (and then have them go someplace else and play really well in the playoffs).
Jaroslav Halak traded to the Blues
Reportedly, rumors have Perron and maybe a pick going to the Habs in exchange for Halak.
edit: LeBrun saying that the Habs will get Eller and Schultz from the Blues for Halak, not Perron.
I just cant see Halak in a Blues jersey
Holy shit why would Montreal trade Halak? Guess they figured his value will never be higher and are deciding to stay with Price who's younger? Hoping he fills out?
