Buddy and I were getting in a round of NHL10 last night, he rolled Canucks on our team random'ing, about 45 seconds in I get tagged for a game misconduct high-sticking(it seriously never fucking fails that every time I play this guy I get at least one major and/or a double-minor). Sure enough it's to Salo's face, and he gets a broken jaw less than a minute into the game, I had to laugh.

Hawks get Brian Bickell signed for 3 years with a cap it of $541k~ per, that's a bit of a load off. If they can get Hendry re-signed for $5-600k they should actually be in reasonably decent shape to either sign Niemi if next week's arbitration comes out reasonable, or hand the reigns to Corey Crawford if not and maybe bring in another decent player with whatever they have to spare.

So in lieu of playing olde NHL'10 today, I popped in the DVDs I just got, Washington Capitals 10 Greatest Games. First one is game seven, Caps/Flyers 1988 Patrick semis. Watching Grant Ledyard spear Rick Tocchet in the balls, get a major and a misconduct for it, and listening to the HTS announcers break down the penalty is just gold. Also, Peter Zezel can go fuck himself.

Watching a 'greatest games' DVD as a fan of a team that has never won a Cup just sounds like a way to get pissed off about old playoff games from when you were a kid that you had almost just forgotten about lol, there's a Hawks version of that DVD but I'm guessing there'd be some shit from the '92 playoffs on it and I'd get all riled up over it.

It was kind of a testament to everything the Caps had done wrong recently. Go 0-for-4 on the PP in the 1st period, take a dumbass penalty and give up a PP goal that deflected off a defenseman, hit three fucking posts in the 3rd and OT alone, Ron Hextall standing on his head with huge saves... But Dale Hunter's breakaway goal and Hextall's reaction were priceless.
