Finally played the NHL 11 demo. As long as you go to your backhand near the net/on a breakaway, you have a goal. Lame, hopefully they fix this.
Controls feel a bit sluggish too, but maybe it's because I'm used to the 360 controller for hockey.

It's the game itself, not the controls. The 'Game Speed' setting on the demo is set almost to the minimum, I'm assuming they'll set it higher for the retail. Also if your passing seems sluggish remember that they tweaked it so that holding R2 down for longer results in a harder pass, while just tapping it lets go a softy.
The biggest release of September is coming sooon....NHL 11!
Funny Caps trade rumors: supposedly they're looking to deal Flash for either Souray or Bieksa
That's making me laugh here.
The Oilers message board is talking about it, but I love how they always start off as a Souray for Flash deal, but then people start over-speculating.
The best are people coming up with stupid shit like Gagner, Cogliano and Pajarvi-Svensson for Semin now.
I'm glad people decide to come up with brain-dead deals because something like NHL10 would say it's a solid deal and the other GM agrees to it.
Tempted to be like "While we're dealing with Washington, why don't we give them Hemsky, Hall, Eberle, Gagner and our next 3 1st rounders for Ovechkin, Fehr, Semin, Backstrom and Varlamov? While we're just throwing random names out there and all..."
He's a good third line winger, little speed, nice wrist shot. But he pretty much failed in his audition for 2C last year after we realized Brendan Morrison wasn't cutting it. A lot of Caps fans don't like him because he's very streaky and doesn't always get back on D (in before "that's the whole team").
Also, Semin in a minor car accident in his home town in Russia. No injuries reported. Dodged a bullet there...
And the Pens have just announced signing Arron Asham to a 1-year deal, $700k. There's the top-notch winger you guys need!
Complete and total waste of money. I have no idea why Shero made the decision to burn 700k on Arron Asham.
700k is a deal for him tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a good year, he was solid for Philly
The thing with his signing is the fact we have an entire team made up of players like him. Cooke, Talbot, Rupp, to an extent Kennedy, Tangradi, Adams, Johnson... all like him. Makes no sense whatsoever, and let's not forget the drama he had with Cooke when Cooke allegedly bit his finger in a scrum lol.
That sucks. I was really hoping Vancouver would sign Asham, I wasn't the only Canuck fan hoping for it either.
You have a pretty nice site as is, simple, well laid out, not over
bearing.
I wonder why the NHL thread always gets hit with the spammer/spambot lol
Max Talbot and Mike Rupp visiting Haiti this weekend to deliver relief supplies and street hockey equipment, class act Penguins; class act Pittsburgh athletes! If only we could do something about Bad Ben.
He's too busy snorting lines of coke off drunk college girls and feeling them up.
I'm shocked that the Pens fans think the Asham signing is terrible, he should be better than most of the wingers on the Pens right now. I understand the hate for him being a Flyer, but he is a great 3rd line winger, possibly a good 2nd liner. 700k is a great number for him too.
For me, it has nothing to do with him being a Flyer, it just feels like more of the same. Basically everyone not named Crosby, Malkin, and Staal is a similar player to Asham on our roster. I really think Asham may be a replacement to someone getting traded in the future, though, so at 700k, why not?
