So I recently moved my computer back home and when I went to set everything up the resolution and settings and whatever else got reset (which is fine) but now it doesn't recognize my monitor the same way it used to if that makes sense. Originally in the devices my monitor was just named "Generic PnP Monitor", now it says "Generic Non-PnP Monitor", it's a plug n' play and there's no disc or anything that ever came with it. My desktop resolution settings only gives me the option to go up to 1400x900 instead of 1680x1050. I found a way to set the desktop res back to normal (1680x1050, the max res for this monitor, it's a 22" LCD 16:10 widescreen made by "Envision") through my graphics card settings. My desktop is now back to normal but all of my games only recognize that my monitor supports up to 1400x900 (1440?) which they didn't used to. I just want to be able to go back to 1680x1050 but I can't seem to figure out how to do so.
Is there some sort of option I need to select or unselect or what's the deal here? It worked perfectly fine like a day and a half ago and now it's just a little annoying after I got all used to that resolution. I've tried plugging my monitor into both of the ports on my GPU (GTX260) and tried a different cable but nothing has changed.
Thanks as always tech.
