Whats the best place to do Undead Magian trials?
Any solid strat to low man Lamprey Lord for gkt trials?
Given the following conditions, which will result in faster TP gain for COR?
COR80/DNC40 (so, DW2)
8 dagger merits, 0 sword merits
Suppanomimi
Store TP+13
94% dagger accuracy
The comparison is Joyeuse+M.Kris vs. M.Kris alone.
edit: Misread. Has anyone determined a cap on counter rate? Curious with all the new counter gear and such if it would be possible to reach 95%.
M.Kris is faster TP gain, especially with the dagger merits.
Maf: (I'm assuming Brutal was part of your 13 STP)
M.Kris hits 1.9 times per swing with no DA (30/50/20 distribution assumed)
Joyeuse hits 1.45 times per swing with no DA (55/45 distribution assumed)
M.Kris still hits 1.9 times per swing with 5% DA (1.905 times)
Joyeuse hits 1.48 times per swing with 5% DA (1.4775 times)
M.Kris single - 12 STP, +2 Acc earring instead of Suppa for 95% hit rate, 5.8TP/hit, 11.02TP/192 delay = 3.444 TP/second
M.Kris/Joyeuse - 13 STP, 20% Dual Wield, 5.4 TP/hit, 18.2655TP/332 delay = 3.31 TP/second
I think if you assume Joyeuse is a 50% base, you get that they're about equal. You'd also be assuming equal accuracy between main and offhand, which isn't really realistic.
Stupid fishing question inc,
Just started fishing using Halcyon rod and insect paste in bastok markets. Currently skill 0 and after a stack and a bit of moat carp and a few tri-colour I still haven't got a single skill up, is this normal for fishing?
I'm assuming I've spoken to the fishing guild NPC, she doesn't give me the option to join the guild so I'm assuming I joined many years ago.
Yes, skill ups in fishing are rare, however you dont need to travel all around the world for mats and waste gil, so it comes out even imo.
ps sign up for netflix, start reading the ridiculously long BG threads in the media forums that are on like funny pics XIVX.
pss if you fish for skill ups you wont last, fish for gil. also check the crafting forum for some good fishing threads.
Yeah, fishing skillups are slow as balls without a Pelican Ring. It's not uncommon to fish to exhaustion and get less than a full point in skillups even at low levels.
The range for mist is pretty sure (10' iirc, maybe 15) and is easy to avoid. You may want to wait until after it tries to use mist before running in to ws, otherwise it shouldn't be much different than any rdm solo, except for taking much longer, and not being able to slack off as much, since you don't have cures (hi potions/regen drinks are cheap i guess). No idea how long it'd take, but you could definitely kill it like that.
I'd probably bring some antidotes, and potions/drinks just in case, but if you're careful, you shouldn't need them. Obviously though, it'll take a fair amount of time with 3 min med timer, so being careful isn't always so easy, especially since it'll be boring as hell.
I doubt any of that would work, you would run up to WS, it would Acid Mist, your shadows would be down, you would be stuck there from the WS animation long enough to get hit.
I'm a bit behind on the whole Magian quests thing after taking a break from the game, but what is the best COR gun and best RNG gun to make through Magian (other than the recent relic-looking ones)? Do any of them beat Martial gun for Cor? Thanks.
My girlfriend is a career BRD (only job) and wants to do a magian dagger.
What are the best daggers for BRD to consider? (not only for buffing, but if there's a good one for her to use to DD in campaign or solo, include that please)
Thanks!
(obviously mythic is out of the question, as I don't think a new player has much of a chance to get it with Ein/Salvage becoming less desirable with the level cap increase)
Sorry for these ubern00b questions about Weapon Skills, WSC, and fTp... All the info I've turned up isn't 100% clear on the mechanics.
As I understand it, for Physical WSs, the first hit gets the full benefit of the WSC modifier and the fTP bonus.
Question #1: Do all of the other hits from additional WS Hits, Dual Wield, Double/Triple Attack, and Weapon Occasional Attacks also get that WSC bonus? Do some get it (like multihit WS hits) and others don't (such as Dual Wield)?
Alright, and then for all of those extra hits listed above, the fTP supposedly drops down to 1.0 (after the primary hit).
Question #2: Is it always 1.0 though, as in no alteration to the base damage + WSC? Or is it the fTP modifier that's present at 100% TP? Most WSs have an fTP modifier of 1.0 at 100% TP, but not all. Some have an fTP of 1.50 at 100%TP, so the first hit would obviously be way stronger than all subsequent hits. Some have an fTP of 0.50 @ 100%TP like Rampage, so if every extra hit was elevated to 1.0 they'd get a huge boost. So how exactly does the fTP work with multihits? ?_?
I may as well throw this in there...
Question #3: Is the added hit from Dual Wield subject to the individual Attack, Accuracy, and Damage Type inherent to the offhand Weapon during the WS? Say if I'm using a Piercing WS against a Colibri or something and for whatever reason have a Slashing Sword in my offhand, would it get the 1.25 Piercing Bonus from the WS or Mainhand weapon? Or would it just tack on an extra Slashing (no bonus) hit (with a possible WSC bonus).
Thanks. >_< Sorry if I'm over-analyzing, but that's what you people do, right? =x

For my dancer I intend to mainhand twashtar and offhand the juiced up merc kris, probably optimum set up for bard as well.
Soloing Id also say a pair of damage mitigation daggers would be fucking epic,
and they have some pretty decent damage as well, making a pair perfect for soloing.
Partying wise a DDing brd could actually probably get away with a pair of the macc+ daggers, as two together sum up for a total of +24 Macc, not too shabby. Still doesn't compare to ele staves but far superior to any other dagger, except maybe the augment weapon NMs, I havent really looked at whats available for bard on those daggers. Not only that they take a lot less effort than killing three trillion of mobs while its raining and 3 monks in china are sneezing.
Okay, quick question, I skimmed the magians thread and didn't really find my answer, but... Since the update, which Great Axe(s) have turned out to be the best.. I was thinking the high DMG one, but the OAT still seems viable... Thanks for any help.
Yes, all offhand hits do as well.
Correct.Alright, and then for all of those extra hits listed above, the fTP supposedly drops down to 1.0 (after the primary hit).
Always 1.0 for hits beside the first.Question #2: Is it always 1.0 though, as in no alteration to the base damage + WSC? Or is it the fTP modifier that's present at 100% TP? Most WSs have an fTP modifier of 1.0 at 100% TP, but not all. Some have an fTP of 1.50 at 100%TP, so the first hit would obviously be way stronger than all subsequent hits. Offhand hit base damage is calculated using your mainhand weapon during WS; damage type and such should also follow suit.Question #3: Is the added hit from Dual Wield subject to the individual Attack, Accuracy, and Damage Type inherent to the offhand Weapon during the WS? Say if I'm using a Piercing WS against a Colibri or something and for whatever reason have a Slashing Sword in my offhand, would it get the 1.25 Piercing Bonus from the WS or Mainhand weapon? Or would it just tack on an extra Slashing (no bonus) hit (with a possible WSC bonus).
Yup, and that's what these threads are forThanks. >_< Sorry if I'm over-analyzing, but that's what you people do, right? =x![]()
