Best way to take out Fairy Ring?
be prepared for alot of "skip it" which is my personal view as well.
if you want to kill it: we had a bst onry in shell for a 4years send a pet at the NM , and drag it to camp, then just zerg it with liberal stuns.
sac away the yags around it first though ofc.
replace bst with any pet job for same affect, or just flee in/out if heavily buffed, it can 1 shot your puller otherwise.
In my LS we always have a thf sac pull the Yags and have a Rng shadowbind pull it (inb4 lolrng in dynamis). As for actually fighting it just make sure you have lots of stuns and that your tank faces it away from the rest of the group since his breath attacks can 1 shot a lot of people.
Is paralyze 2 worth meritting, since most VNM's, or SCNM's resist paralyze all together?
What's a good setup for merits then? SLow II 5/5 and Bio III 5/5?
or maybe Phalanx 5, Dia 2, and Slow II 3/5?
Unless you're a die-hard soloist, skip bio.
Phalanx merits are likely about to become useless, given that /SCH is almost certainly going to be the SJ of choice for RDM.
If you dia will be useful to you, do 5/5 slow, 3/5 paralyze, 2/5 dia. If it won't be, 5/5 slow and paralyze.
Another question - I keep seeing SAM's with the high base dmg Magian GKT.
What's the deal with that? am I missing something as to why it's sought after?
People being misinformed
Slightly better than Hagun iirc, assuming you're constantly engaged and a bunch of other stuff (or not afk, as MDK likes to put it).
no, that's the OAT + dmg gkt. the high dmg gkt is just ppl with shinsoku syndrome.
I've seen a lot of blue mages with two magian swords that give +10 M.Acc. and I don't understand why when compared to the +4 DEX +8 Acc. sword and +4 STR 12 Attack sword combo, which I think is better. If anyone could tell me how this is benefiting to blue mage it would be very helpful. I haven't done any magian quest because I don't know which swords would be better.
They are most likely misinformed and thinking it has an effect on their physical spell accuracy. Or they are trying to use it for head butt.
Thanks a lot for the info.![]()
I just joined a Salvage static. I'm mostly doing it to do stuff with my husband, who wants Usukane feet. I'm not sure which set/pieces to go for.
I have WHM, BLM, BRD, RDM, THF, PLD, MNK, and DNC at 75. Of these, the only one I truly enjoy is DNC... which of course isn't on any of the Salvage sets. Of the rest, I use WHM and BRD most often, but hate both--BRD I hate a little less than WHM.
Within the static, three people are going for Usukane, and two are going for Morrigan's. I'm the 6th, and they want to know what they should be looking for for me. In my position, faced with one job you adore and 7 jobs you couldn't possibly feel more "meh" about, which set/pieces would you ask for? I was considering Marduk, but it just doesn't scream awesome.
Also, I have like 400k so awesome body pieces are out.
Thanks in advance!
i agree with jimbob that if you can't mix and match, find a new group or adjust your group's lotting rules (our group does top 5 items you want ranked in order). with only 400k, you won't be able to afford head, hands or body. so when it comes down to legs and feet, of all the sets, skadi and morrigan legs are best, usu feet are godly, and if you enjoy enfeebling on rdm, morrigan feet. marduk legs are also win for brd.
