Why not just do colibri? Like 11 pops at leypoint and on windsday the nins come out and you usually have a bunch of ppl to pt up w/ and clear that shit like no tomorrow

Anything better than Uleguerand Range for Trial 82(kill 50 skeletons in any weather)? All options seem pretty shitty.
Any good massive post/guide on WHM/NIN tanking?
Or can anyone give me a break-down on what gearsets to have, what to use for enmity, and any mobs to practice tanking on?
Thanks in advance.
Tanking is the same for every class capable of effectively doing so.
-Be able to generate enmity, be it through damage, spells, job abilities, or some combination of the the three
http://kanican.livejournal.com/tag/enmity%20table! is an easy-access to all relevant sources of enmity in this game. Its easy to navigate, so just look around and figure out what is going to give you the most bang for your buck for the job you're tanking with.
-Be able to mitigate most of the damage thrown your way, be it through Utsusemi, Counterstance, Perfect Counter, Third Eye, or some combination of the three
Use http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Jobs to take a look at what defensive abilities your particular job is best suited to call upon for tanking. Don't forget that damage comes in many forms, and isn't limited to physical intake.
-Be able to amplify the enmity generated, be it through increasing your damage or increasing your enmity during the cast of a spell or the usage of an ability
If your means to procuring enmity is going to be coming from damage, refer to the enmity table link above to decide if you'll gain more of it by increasing your damage directly, or by increasing the enmity generated by your damage by a fixed percent. If your means to procuring enmity is going to be coming from spells or job abilities, use http://www.ffxiah.com/item_search.php?stat_id=12 to decide which pieces of equipment are going to increase your enmity the most.
Edit: MNK is for fgts
Don't forget perfect counter and counterstance![]()
Erp, sorry.
Oh sweet, that table is pretty much what I needed. Thanks!
I remember seeing an excel sheet a while back that calculated magic damage for relevant BLM spells based on MAB and INT. Think it was damage on puddings. I lost all my bookmarks though and now I can't find it. Does anyone have the link?
And yes, I know I can do the math, but this was a good resource to have and if anyone has the link I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I asked the same question about 3 weeks before the update, I just want too see if the answere has changed since the update.
What options is there for BLU swords now? Anything from Magian? OAT and high damage weapon are out of reach for me cause I don't do VNM at all. Just done the level 80 GKT trial for my SAM I will kill myself if I have to do it again lol.
What about http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Vetala_Sword main hand and perdu off?
I dunno if I will ever reach Tier3 Revitalization floors but It's the best I can think of outside of Almace/OAT/High Damage/Koggelmander.
Has there ever been augment of haste+1 on dusk gloves? I couldve sworn I saw it or read about it but cant find anywhere.
DA Khanda/STR Shamshir is comparable to/better than STR/OAT, so it's your best bet for a max damage setup currently unless Tyrfing ends up being amazing. DEX Shamshir is also a nice option if you're really hurting for accuracy. Vetala's not bad for solo play; I'd ditch the Perdu Hanger.
Gleaming shield any good, compared to Terror and Koenig?
OAT3x weapon's distribution?
