K, so... Probably a really stupid question, but whatever. Been trying to burn off my monthly backups for ~2 weeks now, finally figured out my DVD burner is probably dying. It can read anything it wants to just fine, but when I try to burn anything on any program, it throws an error and coasters the disc.
Now, here's the fun part. Just replaced pretty much everything in this computer save for my hard drives and that burner, because a power surge killed my UPS (somehow) and the rest of the PC exploded with it. Hard drives show no abnormalities except being a little bit louder than usual. DVD burner suddenly does this and now the brand new parts are locking up whenever I try to do much of anything on the PC. Related?
