Take a look at the zone in the .dats. It doesn't look like it will be instanced and SE has yet to make an instanced event you can join midway through. The zone has many disconnected islands which are likely the battlefields and a colosseum which will be the boss area I'm sure.

Because there is a large contingent of retards who complain they can't accomplish any content due to their inability to get a group (due to their own incompetence usually) and feel excluded. This coincides with contingent of people who dislike competitive content.

So solution is to make content completely open to remove the competitive and exclusive elements that the excluded feel is detrimental.

This is kind of what caused the 2H patch; lots of shitty DD's needed a crutch cause they would never get invited to merit parties. Now they are whining they never get invited into HNMLS, so the giant nerf stick is to make all current HNMs laughable through a level cap raise and the new end game content completely open. It's basically choosing business over the integrity of the game. SE's about 50/50 on that.

To be the devil's advocate, the integrity of competitive endgame play is a joke. We're in like the steroid era of FFXI endgame where everyone is bullshitting to justify their edge.

HNM camps are filled with largely bitter players seeking to sell other players loot, most good loot can be obtained in small groups and lastly the tougher content is avoided by or complained about by successful endgamers whenever any effort has to be put in.

TL;DR - People whine on both fronts and endgamers cry just as hard as casuals.

FFXI doesn't have to be all about camping things if thats what you mean, who the fuck wants to camp different things for 8 years straight? Diversifying content is what keeps people playing a game for years on end and thats why you probably still play.
