I can see the tears.
I can see the tears.
"He will not have a concept of exclusivity. The access may also be made after the combats have commenced, so permitting the participation of players solo or in [a] team."
Don't mind me. I just find it amusing translating French stunningly literally. I like how other languages' grammar sounds when translated directly into English without regard for rewording things.
I dont see anything wrong with it, it's the standard endgame area with a small twist to help the casuals or smaller LSes.
You don't have to picture a horde of idiots joining your runs since any standard endgame LS will already have enough people to "cap" the zone, progress and handle loots.
The key thing here is that anyone NOT in an endgame shell will still be able to give the event a try, simply joining whenever an alliance is forming and fight just like any campaign battles.
Also, people who missed the weekly LS run will still be able to take part to it.
I think Campaign didnt "destroy" exp parties or merits, because any good party can still perform dozen times better than that, the same will be with WoE.
That, I think, is the problem. If it's a campaign-style evaluation, then the casuals and smaller LSes are going to be at somewhat of an unfair disadvantage (compared to receiving end-battle rewards from other content) for whatever the "highly evaluated" players get.
And if everyone else who participated gets to lot on the rest, well, I sometimes get like a Swamp Ore or if I'm really lucky a Feyweald Log from the campaign unions. Oh, and one time I got a Whiteshell~ So yeah.
I hope "highly evaluated" doesn't mean that they mess up and make it so the mages just want to melee to get points.
In Dynamis, people can enter late if you give them an hourglass.
In Dynamis, anyone can lot in the zone.
In Dynamis, you have to control a battlefield area.
In Dynamis, the mobs are not claimed, the same as campaign and besieged.
Some of you are reading the text very wrong in the article. I think you have to control a battlefield similar to controlling a chamber in einherjar then if any of your people want to enter late, they need an item like an hourglass or smouldering lamp to enter.
As for the sythesis materials, I'm glad I can take advantage of inflation on this update like every other one before it.
Just not sure how the high evaluation chest will work out fairly when SAMs will get the chest to pop the most and jobs like WHMs might think they need to be forced to melee and spam MP/use bad MP management just to catch up.
I know I was instantly discouraged when I read the "highly evaluated" part. As a support type job, doing this could suck hard- if it is judged similarly to Campaign. Here's hoping as mentioned earlier for a more Besieged like judging scale.
I forgot to bitch and say how you don't need to do any missions in WOTG to do this event. RMT might have an event to take over again after all. We busted our butts and 80% of the lazy server that did not do any WOTG missions or quests get to join in walk of echos... I expected it to be a non time limit zone like sky and sea though. I hope to god there is no 72 hour wait on this crap.
They do have a walk of echos part 2 in a future update after WOTG is complete so I guess they can put a restriction on that.
This could be a catastrophe if its a 64 player limit like Dynamis and people are free to join whenever and leech off of the linkshell doing it...
Imagine killing the "big boss", and then some random people start looting the drops because they stood outside HP swapping to cure themselves.
This is the worst fucking idea in the world. This a joke square, right?
Why this will suck:
Random fags will lot your shit, and otherwise destroy any attempt at a fair "ls loot" system if it's all freelot.
Random fags will completely fuck up any attempt at strategy. I like to do nice neat pulls in Dynamis/Ein/Salvage/Limbus. I don't like random fucking idiots Leroy Jenkings this bitch.
Random fags will probably inadvertently MPK you using krakens as thf/dnc or otherwise being retarded
I'm sure theres more I can't think of right now.
I Don't know how i feel about this.
For starters i don't have a endgame linkshell, mostly probably because of the 8 75 jobs i have none of them are SAM or BRD.
What that means for me is i can join this event and have a shot at the rewards.
But then i remember half of Asura are fucking gimp annoying cocksmurfs who have retard luck.
Half of me hopes its a Dynamis-style event, and half of me hopes i can join any time i want.
gah, so torn![]()
The message is fairly explicit that entry will be open (up to the maximum player limit) to anyone similar to campaign. The statement about mobs not being claimed by a single party / ally reinforces that notion.
There is mention of a higher tier of rewards for those who perform exceptionally well; I don't understand how so many of you can form seemingly steadfast judgments off a few blurbs.
I wanted to point out this is not an endgame area really. At least, not for more than three months.
This is bittersweet for a multitude of reasons:
-No mission requirements means this event is going to be hammered on day one.
I can argue this all day but without restrictions to keep some people out, the event will be hammered by clueless people who want loot and whine hard for it. I guess SE took all that whining about missions to heart and now we'll all pay for it.
-Not being instanced, this seems like Campaign Battle for 76+.
I really hope this is hard enough to facilitate some strategy. Besieged is garbage because everything is hammered so hard with people that you just watch a bar drop to 0.
Really fucking annoyed SE didnt put a mission requirement on this. Way to promote laziness and putting in as little effort as possible.
Yeah, almost does sound like 76+ Campaign or the like.
But, hard to say, since SE apparently doesn't like giving much more info than they did at Fanfest, despite the update being next week.
Not too excited tbh... the thought of random fools joining in like campaign and messing shit up just annoys me.
Been looking forward to Walk of Echoes since WoTG release, hope they don't screw this up
Gotta agree with the sentiment that very little mission progression needed for this event is lame as fuck. With as long as it has taken to get Walk of Echoes implemented (and for WotG to reach a conclusion in general), people have had ample time to not be lazy fucks and get their missions done. But instead, pretty much anyone that can travel through a Maw can access this content. Feels like a slap in the face, in a way.
Oh well, here's hoping the reward for finishing WotG will be the kick in the ass that said lazy fucks need to progress in the missions.
