Love the new design.
Should be hitting stores soon, the gamestop my brother works at seems to be getting a shipment in wed or thursday.
Built-in Wi-fi. Like it should have had from the very start.
IGN did an unboxing vid just after the MS event, there are no component cables or HDMI cables included, only composite.

pretty dick move by MS if you ask me, my 3 year old 360 that doesn't have an HDMI port in the back came with a component cable.
I'm actually intrigued since I was looking to buy a new 360 sometime in late July. The only thing that has the potential to bug me would be the price on it. I currently have a 60 GB HDD on an Arcade XBOX 360 and I want to buy a new one to upgrade my HDD as well as have a second one for my gf to play on. I'm assuming since this one has built-in wifi that it'll push ~$400 but if they can offer it for around $300 I would jump all over it.
Also, I hope that Kinect comes out seriously over priced so no one supports it. I really can't stand motion controls, I just want solid gameplay & tight controls, not flailing about like every Wii game makes me. >_>
yeah I don't see why everyone's sucking microsoft's dick over this, my mw2 console component adapter has optical, a 250 gig HD, is "whisper quiet" and I already got fucked over on my wireless adapter...the only thing that's left is the fingerswipe disc tray/power. not trying to hate, it just seems pretty silly to come out with what should have been available at launch this late into the x360/ps3 era of consoles.

Enjoy your garbage disposal.
omg, lol, I laughed far harder at the slow mo than I should have. D: I never move my 360 while a disc is running and I don't even transport it with a disc inside. I always assumed that either was a case for screwing up your game. D:
It's not that there's optical at all, it's that it's integrated into the console so if, say, you're using HDMI for video, but optical for audio, you don't need their special audio-only adapter cable.
Actually, it's pretty standard. My Elite came with tons of cables, including HDMI, but they haven't included them for a while.pretty dick move by MS if you ask me, my 3 year old 360 that doesn't have an HDMI port in the back came with a component cable.
Most consumer devices include SD cables, if any at all. Just how it is.
How many devices pass that test? Seen people do that with older systems as well. PS2s were pretty notorious for it if you had them upright.Enjoy your garbage disposal.
Idk, but this is 2010, not 2006, and PS3 doesn't do it. And I don't think wii does it either, as a matter of fact wii DOESN'T do it because my wii fell 3 feet to the floor and it was fine, shit the game was still running. Only thing was the fan broke.
Well, how about other tray based devices? Like most DVD players, computers, etc? Not just talking consoles.
General point being more that it probably has little or nothing to do with it being a 360, and a lot more to do with the type of optical drive it is. I mean, I dunno about you, but I'm not about to wait until my PC spins a disc up and then lean it over until I hear scraping.
I did this with my old 360 all the time, the only time it fucked up a disk, was when my Ex was over and was playing rock band, best day of my life
But I move my PS3 from vertical to laying flat, and it has never made a noise from what it sounded like in that video, I do this generally a lot because not having things in a certain way will bug me until I see them the way that I want, and this changes day in day out, and there is no way in hell that I turn off my ps3 in the middle of a game just because something is bugging me lol.
rrod first day, calling it.
Why am I always the one that gets called out for making exaggerations![]()
I nearly bought an xbox but then realized that PS3 would be cheaper and that Halo is boring. It's not that I am a PS3 fanboy or nintendo fanboy it's just I hate MS.
My 360 has been at my sisters hours for... at least 2 years now. Theirs rrod'd (theirs was newer than mine lol) so I let them borrow it for guitar hero.
I haven't bothered getting it back, they don't have the money for a new one. I have a ps3 anyway, all the games I'm interested in are on both consoles, and ps3 is HDMI'd into my 2nd pc monitor so I can lean back in my computer chair or browse internet while I play ps3. Plus I'm a PC gamer anyway, rare for me to play a console game.
