    Tahabata questions

My group has recently hit the point we can do S rank. We had to wait on killing the general cause we knew we would have no chance against Tahabata yet. I heard rumor that its possible to kill him without all members having fire resist set. Since the fire set will be quite costly (outside of fort drops) this info would be very helpful. Does anyone know how many member must have the set?

I've heard things like its possible to tank Tahabata in the lava and he'll take extra damage speeding up the fight. This is what made me wonder if its possible to have say 2 tanks with full fire resist and everyone else stay out of AoE range or something?

I found an old guide here: http://miragent.blogspot.com/2010/02...-pictures.html

It looks to be a translation with some details missing. I was wondering if anyone has fought it that could provide as much detail as possible. If we have to suck it up and just fight this guy a bunch of times till we learn it all we will, but some time saving info would be great. If anyone knows anything, it would be appreciated if you can share =)

If you're tanks have full fire resist, that's a good start, as they'll be the ones standing in the lava. Typically if you dont have full fire resist, full miragent is a decent second. The thing you should be most concerned with is the adds. This is what usually breaks groups.

Fire resist I have 480 with buffs, food, scroll, dp blue hat, 1 earing and necklace with fire res on them + 1404 MR as cleric the lava does 3-4k dmg to me, i tried with 1650 mr but hardly ever resited anything except the early adds attacks so i go with hp set now.

My group didnt try tanking it in the lava, what you lose from wearing a full set with no manastones is far too much we think. Didnt win yet but will very soon, happy to answer some questions.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying you said forget it to the fire resist set and have gone for whatever regular gear your tank has instead? What part of the fight is giving you the most troubles that you haven't won yet?

I've seen in the videos the adds popping at 25%, is there a nasty AOe going off at the same time? Its hard to tell.

The aoes really arent so bad, my group is temp glad ranger sorc chanter an me as cleric, we positon so 90% of the time only 2 of us get hit with aoes an the dmg from them is not usally more then 3k. It really is not hard till the final 25%.

Recently our problems have been me being feared in to the lava early (near imposible to get out without res loci but i did once) or petrify + destroy soul hitting me (cleric) or the templar and the glad tanking taha. At 26% it does petrify > destroy soul > 4 adds > petrify > destroy soul > 4 adds. Takes 3 cure mind casts to remove petrify from one person an if destroy soul hits before that its instant kill. The templar can manage 8 adds for about 1min we just havent managed to kill it in that time yet, it also does another petrify an 4 more adds at 5%.

Need to jump back from petrify before it goes off, important to have your tank call out stuff in advance. I usually do that for my group, lava is also a joke if you have full fire resist. DPS needs to be strong after 25%, my group switches out their FR gear and goes full blown on abyss/miragents to finish it off quickly. I can hold the adds for 2 minutes and we never whipe after Tahabata dies like most groups, we kill off the adds as well. Killed it back in April, the drop rate is just too shitty to consider going often for it.

Can the tank get out of range of the petrify or do you just mean everyone other than the tank needs to get back?

everyone besides the tank, the tank can get dispelled if the cleric is fine.

well we tried our first S rank last night. The non elite adds ended up rocking our cleric (I wanted to say whm). How do you guys normally deal with the non elites? Someone in my group just said ignore them which is how our cleric ended up dead.

cleric and maybe the chanter need to be sure to have very very high fire resist (in my experiences)

personally I have full flame of hell and I have 1000 fire resist while in robe of fire, 1800 mboost (with chanter's buffs)

thbt mostly turns to shot fire balls and random targets and they do about 1200 damage to me or so, I think with 0 fire you're looking at 6000-7000 from those.

basic stuff that anyone should have:
    balic food (50 all elements)
    major fire scroll (80)
    blessing of earth (50)
    elemental mantra (50)
    summer circle (80)
    word of protection (100)
    final campaign necklace (57)
blue hats from lower rank DP bosses (48 )

    so that's 515 (615 for sorc/SM, 545 chan/temp)
honestly I'd question if that's enough alone, thbt is a huge stress fight on any cleric and anything you can do to bring alot of the stray damage down helps a ton, with those buffs plus grabbing a few accessories like earrings and rings with fire resist

as for alot of the finer details on the fight idk what I can say, I'm a sorc, I stay in a far off corner in full fire set and just nuke and don't get reflected on, once 30% hits then I toggle to miragents(full MBoost slotted) and give it my all. last attempt was 5% (3rd attempt over-all, 2nd attack with primary group) we're close and our setup is alittle "unorthodox"
Templar, Templar, Cleric, Chanter, Ranger, Sorcerer

P.S. flame of hell set cost me (with average price of expert premium armor fluxes being 1mil) 30million to craft, just figured I'd share that. it's 12mil just for the regents from the NPC that sells the designs in SR. I had 4/5 set from forts but after 3 months straight of no cloth body drop I decided to just do the crafted set.
