Which catalyst drivers are you using for that? Also, single channel memory? Why did you set it to that? I have an ATI 5970 OCed to 950 and 1275 and am hardly breaking 5.8k with single GPU test, and when I use the SLI workaround easily getting almost to 8k.

Because I'm saving for a Core i7 980X instead more RAM, your performance must bust low, Core i7 920 w/o overclock nor HD 5"8"70 overclock gives me more than 5k score @ 1080p, do you keep your windows memory crap free?

Well, I would expect more out of an 5870 and a 5970 at the same clock speeds because essentially in the FFXIV benchmark the 5970 is a single 5870 underclocked. My benchmarks in other games/benchmark programs generally gets about where it should be for my card and where it is overclocking. I was wondering, for your FFXIV benchmark drivers did you modify the benchmark in any way (for example the Crossfire workaround)? If not, what catalyst drivers are you currently using?

Also, what do you mean do you keep your windows memory crap free? Do you mean do I not have many processes running in the background? If that is what you are asking, when the benchmark was running I only had Synergy, ATI Catalyst, and MSI Afterburner running when I did my tests.

Catalyst 10.5 (was getting only 6k with 10.6) and the newest Bios (The custom one with Fan control) is your HD5970 a Black Edition or unlocked, I mean where you can achieve more than 1000 Mhz?

I have a reference ASUS with a Artic Cooler Acceloro on it. I got it to 1050 and max memory frequency once, but after about 2 hours furmark it started artifacting so I brought it back down. I have mainly been testing with the 10.6 drivers.

I can easly achieve 1.1Ghz Core Clock speed with MSI Afterburner but it isn't stable for more than 4 hours of MSI Kombuster tests even if cards temps aren't higher than 65°C

That's terribad. I doubt you''ll have much of an experience at all on FFXIV. I mean, the benchmark went through without showing video.

I realize this card is old, but would 2 GeForce GTS 250 1GB cards in SLI be decent at running this game? Can anyone with a similar cards please post what they got after running the altered benchmark which supports SLI.

One GTS 250 runs the game decently. Obviously two will run it pretty well once they get the SLI thing worked out.

That card is fine, I scored only 1308 with it though because my processor was bottlenecking it, make sure you have at least a dual core processor

It should do very well, your specs are well above the requirements.

Here's to hoping to that they don't suck like most other ATI drivers. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. One of my biggest let-downs since jumping from Nvidia to ATI is the lack of control and instability of drivers.
