k Just overclocked from 3.6ghz to 3.8ghz on my i7 930
did all these benches in a row with minimal background programs running. (watchin true blood got nothing but time).
4803, 4803, 4810, 4800, 4811
clocked up .2 and on high wont drop below 4800 so far. Nifty shit was consistent

And just hit this o.0 o well im done toying around with this for 2night. Might fuck with my GPU clocks 2morro see what i can do without blowing my shit up

According to Process Explorer, one thread is doing most of the work (on dual-core processors), however when new stuff is coming onscreen both cores are completely loaded.

You can get a low loading score by making sure no disk reads are done (run the benchmark once to get everything in the disk cache).

CoreDuo (not C2D) upped to 3.4ghz, not the 3.8 reported. 4870 512mb, 4gb RAM. Just installed Cata 10.5 and only disabled the AI. Does seem the quad cores and up are doing pretty good on the low side. Would like to see a Phenom II 1055 or 1090 score. I was thinking about those or a 965. But to get much upgrade on my video is pretty pricey... I don't want to drop ~$290 on a 5850, even though its better its not quite enough for me at this stage...

edit: Also, ran fps in the 20s/30s on low, 50s/60s on high.

edit2: Ran on a craptacular old system, P4 3.2ghz, 8600GT, 1.25gb RAM, Vista Ultimate netted a staggering 691 on low.

surprised i even got this, due to heat my system reset all OC settings 2 weeks ago and i've left it alone for the summer. E6600 @ 2.40GHz, ATI 5850, 8GB ram. i'm sure i could get higher if i closed some programs, this was my first run and i was just pumped to see the scenes. edit: high settings

i have to say, my excitement went from "the next FFXI" to "god damnit i want to turn my account back on and go wander around sea serpent grotto for no reason".... this is awesome

I tried lowering/uppping the AA/ cataluyst AA, full scene AA etc , no real changes enough to matter.

If the same cpu oc'ing applies to score (400mhz 4 core i7) should be...
5000 3.6Ghz 5100 4ghz

(video card running 900mhz from 850miz and memory 1300 from 1200)

850 -> 900mhz

score from 4700 -> 4900

would love my video cards cooler on my cpu.. sounds like a jet engine

The performance gains for the Radeon 5800 series over the 4800 series are staggering. I have a fairly top of the line machine (Core i7 920 @2.67GHz, 12GB DDR3 1600, Radeon 4890) and I'm topping out around 2500 on high. Definitely going to upgrade when the game comes out, hopefully by then they'll have Crossfire/SLI enabled.

Personally, I expected to do better. I have no problem running any game on high, including the poorly optimized mess that is Crysis, with this rig.
I game at a measly 1280 x 1024, though...

Also, I'm assuming I need a certain post count before I can upload images?

I don't think it will score any better than the i7 920's and 930's in this thread. Games don't even fully utilize 4 cores yet, let alone 6, and the thubans are comparable to i7 quads in most benchmarks.
