So, can I join in on the result-list? :3
Finally got a new gcard so I thought Id give it a try

I have another question, more on the subjectivity of how the game feels. Sure higher bench numbers could mean better performance but how good is good.
With regards to the high settings, how does 3000 or 4000 bench #'s feel in the game?
I've only tested beta for couple hours and it was playable but barely on my 1200 bench low. Not sure what was it at high but I assume 600-800 if that.
I got 4.3 in the bench, but in the last tests I will have been playing at about 3.7-3.8 (stock clocks.) In the field I was getting a solid 25-30fps, in Limsa I was getting a lot lower, and a lot of stutter. In the last test I noticed a big increase in performance in Limsa.
The game was running at 1680x1050 everything high, no ambient occlusion and 2x adaptive Multi-sample through Catalyst Control Center.
Did both the above and overclockers.net.
I keep crashing in Prime95. Even with 1.45V still the same. I tried a good 15 different settings (>....<
The "OC" did for my above score, when I switch on my rig, I immediately got a message that "Your OC fail...blah...blah...blah.." at boot up (>...<
O well, back to square 1....
Are they going to remove the 30fps cap....?
I am upgrading 2 systems, that's why I can't buy the best for both. But as long as it's smooth enough, it's fine.
I'm thinking of getting 5770 for the other system and using a 5850 for my system. If the 5770 can handle the gameplay without significant lag, that'll be great.
My scores were 2300/3700 and playing the game at 1680x1050 with the default settings I believe (window buffer, 1xAA, no AO, DoF on, medium shadows) is fine. It runs well out in the field, and slows a bit at the camps/town. I think a upper 2k or better on the high score can pretty much run the game fairly well. Hopefully I can get my 470 in tonight before the test starts and have some comparison.
Thinking of upgrading my system.
I'm looking at getting something like a top spec i5 with a GeForce 460 or 470. For people with systems around that sort of level, how well does the Beta play? In areas with a lot of other characters lurking about, how well does it run?
If it's pretty shoddy even on high end systems now, I'd be tempted to hold off a year until hardware that can actually run the game is around.
I play at 1920x1080 with a 5770 and an i5-750 with a slight overclock (3.2ghz) and the game runs very well with distance blur and ambient occlusion turned off. Texture resolution is on window sized and shadows are set on highest. I'd like to play with the texture resolution set on double, but the 5770 can't handle it at acceptable framerates (imo). So I'm prolly gonna pick up a 5850 or a 5870 if I can find a good enough deal sometime soon.
I also have a 5770 1gb and Q6600 @ 2.54 Ghz slithly OCed
With double buffering on character shadows at 1920x1050 I was getting 10-13 FPS and shit was not smooth but semi playable
I turned the buffering back down to 1, turned off shadows and still at high screen res and It was very very smooth but I didn't change the buffer setting down until the last few minutes of the last test, I think I went up to around 20+ FPS, I was having a lot of issues mining and logging as the animation for it was very jumpy and couldn't get an exact point 2 times in a row but I assume that with most of the grpahics settings on low or off It would be better. The card is good probably good enough for some medium settings but i think my CPU is holding me back a lot.
That is almost exactly the same set up as I have, Satyr.
How does it run on the low res screen size? Or did you just play with the 1920x1050
I have i7 920(@3.8 ) and CF HD 5770, I'll try running one card for a bit next time and see how it runs. 1920x1080, MSx2, Shadows Standard, AO/DoF off gave me 30 FPS in the field. Same settings with DoF/AO on give me 12~14 fps ;;
Hmm so the 5770 has strong limits then.. I don't really want to buy 2x 5850 cards, too expensive lol
Yeah I ran it just DoF for a while, FPS hit wasn't that bad but it increases usage/heat a lot so I just turned it off. Half the time I'm inside somewhere or looking down on a mob so meh
I started in beta last test at 1950x1050 or wée I use, and then turned it down to 1348x1024 somthing like that, I can`t say if there was an increase cause at the same time i reduced buffering from 2 to 1 which made a massive difference, so its hard to say, but in alpha I was getting around 22FPS at 1024x824 or whatever and in beta at max res (1920x1050?) I was getting way lower around 10-13FPS
I would say it makes a difference based on that.
(asked this in the hardware req thread, thought I'd get a quicker response here) (copy paste below)
Stupid question, but I wouldn't ask if I knew the answer.
Which would get a higher benchmark score: (Hi Res)
(1) Phenom x4 965 BE (3.4 Ghz) + Ati 5850
or
(2) Phenom x6 1055T (2.8 Ghz) + Ati 5850
My current setup is, Phenom x3 (2.6 Ghz) + Ati 4890 (Hi Res score of 2400).
My goal is 4k Hi Res, which setup (above) will get me there?
