i downloaded off a torrent program, where do i put the file?
fyi, changing from balanced to high performance power plan dropped me from approximately 15,200ms load times to 14,200ms load times. It basically turns off speed step to the best of my knowledge.
I will post my BMs once I get enough post counts ^^
Just picked up a G73 from best buy
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+L...&skuId=9741729
Clicked on the download for the benchmark on the first page hit run and it just opens a browser screen that stays white says done at the bottom and the blue circle keeps spinning. I have checked and I have the latest drivers for the GPU. Any help please.
I know its not the best G73 out there but bestbuy is having (in VA) there whole store is tax free not just school supplies and if you qualify 18month no intrest so it was 1299.00 out the door.
here are my benchmarks..not the highest but I like them..cpu is oc'd to 4.2 but the test detects it as 4.0 for some reason. Everything is stabled at this point and hopefully it'll stay this way for a long way to go
High Setting:

Ya I could of picked up a nice desktop but I needed a new laptop for work so why not get one that I can get two things out of. Ill give that a try taru thanks
Turn off HT and save yourself some voltage and temps.
Not sure if mid 80s C is from the benchmark, but prime95 would kick that up to 100+.
I personally wouldn't run a 24/7 setting above 70 C on load.
3554 High Score
Q6600 @2.4
Windows 7 64bit
4gb DDR2
Radeon 5850
1600 on Low
1300 on High
At least I can play until I decide if I like it and want to upgrade.....
Getting 3300 here on
Q8400 @2.7
WIndows 7 64bit
4gb ddr2
Nvidia 480
Have a new mobo(can't overclock on this junker, and probably not getting the best performance out of my 480, this is probably my bottleneck), and another 4gb ddr2 on the way.
New rig will be a go once the i7 950's get the price cut.
CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz
GPU: eVGA GTX 260 768mb
RAM: 6GB DDR2
OS: Win7 Ultimate x64
Low Res: 3104
Hi Res: 2312
This decent enough?
AMD 6core
4GB RAM
ATI HD 5770
I had 4565 on 1280x720
had 3024 on 1920x1080
My PC prior to the nvidia 480 upgrade got me like 2100. It ran the beta fine. That was on low shadow detail, and 1920x1080. It's be a bit slow around bearded rock with all the people, but in the field you were fine. Deff. not a game breaker if you'd like to just see if you enjoy the game before upgrading for it.
thats a nice score for a stock Q66003554 High Score
Q6600 @2.4
Windows 7 64bit
4gb DDR2
Radeon 5850
with mi setup:
Q6600 at 2,4 (stock)
4GB RAM
GTX 460 1GB
i get 3000 on low and 2000 on high
I hope 3000 is enough for playing smoothly (im not going to play in FullHD).
Wish I could OC a Q6600, but im a noob with OC and I got told my mobo sucks for OC anyways...
It works with all reference cards, but as Amele said, your GPU needs to support software voltage control which a few do not. My XFX 5870 does not support software voltage control and the only way to change the voltage is to break out a soldering iron and do some legit hardware mods I definitely do not have the balls to try.
Fine with it though as I never planned to OC the card and when the fan goes above 70%, it sounds like a harrier jet is landing on my desk.
In general I'd just wait until the retail version hits. Who knows it might just have a option or two that you can fiddle with to make it silky smooth that the benchmark doesn't (i.e. turning off shadows in FFXI that made it run at capped FPS on pretty much any graphics card better than IGP).
Only time I would suggest to someone to upgrade is if their computer is five years old and won't run the game at all or its scoring something along the lines of 500-1000 points.
That being said you should be able to get that q6600 up to ~3.4Ghz+ without any troubles and you should see a nice score bump for both low and high.
