Had to open up my case, my computer is running REALLY hot as well. Haven't had this problem with any game I've played before.
i7 [email protected]
2x HD 5770 (910/1275) in CF
AA/AO/DoF Off, Buffer Window Size, Shadows Standard, 1920x1080, Other two on max
Getting 40~50 FPS in field, sometimes up to 70 fps depending on area.
50% Usage on both GPUs (~70 degrees c on both)
15% Usage on CPU (seems to be fairly even across all 4 cores)
None of the ig options seems to do anything to the FPS (although I havn't tested shadows in highly populated areas yet)
Need someone with Alpha access to report it.
Yeah I just meant if it was uncapped from 30... even just 60 to me is uncapped because my monitor is 60hz and I hate screen tearing so I would force vsync and cap it at 60 anyway.
So, this is the actual game we're talking about, right? Not benchmark, in-game you can get 60fps now? If so that is awesome, I worried they'd keep it at 30.
Anyone get a massive FPS increase when logging back on? (Severs are back online)
I'm getting 90~100+ FPS now with CF
50~60 with CF off
Double post.
My GPUs are both 99%'ing now (were only at 50% before maint). Same settings.
This is great news!
But still huge like xbox temps?
My temps weren't that huge to begin with (partially because they were at 50% usage). But in my limited time on my top card was reaching 80 degrees c (furmak can hit 90+), bottom card was 5~10 degrees lower like always.
That didn't last long, aggroed a Rose thing and FPS dropped and cards went back down to 50% usage.
EDIT:: Restarted FFXIV, GPUs were at 99% again (looking out to sea lowered GPU usage, something that didn't happen when cards are at 50% usage). FPS cap seems to be 120 FPS, I was 110~120 depending where I looked.
After a while cards dropped to 50% usage again (Happened to be in the middle of fighting a mob, but it took a similar amount of time so I think it was just coincidence).
still having the huge stuttering in city after update, dont think they did anything
Seems like AO is the huge resource hog. Going to have to update and turn it off when I get home and do some testing with it
I know the Quadro isn't a gaming card, it's a workstation card, but nonetheless, anyone ever tried to play games on it? The card is optimized for CAD/Maya/3DS/real-time-video-editing applications; which to me is similar to gaming.Originally Posted by Kawfee
Wondering if it will suck because it might have the hardware but not have optimized drivers to run the games? Or would Nvidia put game information into the Quadro drivers just to be safe?
The card alone is worth like $2000, I'm hoping I'll be able to run FFXIV decently on it when traveling.
Windowed mode seems to kill performance, at least it does for me, I was doing some leves at 1600x900 windowed, and was getting 40ish fps avg, tried it at 1920x1200 full screen and jumped to 50+. Too bad you can't alt-tab.
Note: this was eyeballing so I can't be 100% certain of it, but the differente was indeed noticeable.
Edit: Wrong thread.
