How are you running in games, are they choppy or are the running fine.

These test scores are on low not on high which is why I'm so dissapointed,

play perfectly in games, everything maxed out on the ffxiv beta and battle field bad company 2 and no lag, look beautiful and play smooth

Someone has come back to me and said the 3dmark vantage scores I posted are on par with my system...

I have one idea, try to run the low res test again, make sure that the program is using all of the available cores. While the test is running, open up task manager and go to Performance, there you should see at least 4 cores being utilized. If not make sure that the affinity is set right for it and not for some reason set to use only 1 or 2 cores. Also, is hyper-threading enabled? You said you had the EVGA X58 SLI LE which is the same as mine so it should be on by default.

Also what happens when you try to run the hi-res version

You're running everything stock, should see around mid 3k's on high, 4.5k if you OC, yeah.

Have you monitored loads when you run the benchmark, does your GPU reach 99% activity during benchmark? It sounds like it's not pushing the GPU, keep temp monitor open while it runs, you should see 80C+ temps and 99% GPU activity. And do you still have the 4850 you can swap in its place? I would try that, see if you get better results with the 4850.

If you don't have another GPU, I would go to a store that accepts returns like Fry's if you have one in your area, buy a similiar card and test it. Return it when you're done.

This benchmark is shitty though, so if you play real retail games smoothly that's all that matters.

Looking on p97 the SS showed that the card was at 80~90% usage during benchmark with all the other windows etc infront. Could always try running Furmarks stability test to test your card.

Although apparently other games are running fine on the system. Have you tried any other benchmarks and checked results against others? (i7 920 + 5850 results should be easy to find on 5850 reviews). Heaven might be good as it's practically GPU only.

Also try running Small FTT (top option) test in Prime95 (CPU test, mostly ignores RAM). Memtest and Prime95 blend test returned errors, so RAM may be faulty and games just arn't picking it up for some reason (Memtest failed with 6-6-6-6-18 timings at 1.7(?)V, Prime95 blend was done with 8-8-8-8-24 1.65V)

Still unsure why CPU-Z is reported 1.22 vcore when BIOS reports it as being much lower.

Bitches had me scared, 14 and the benchmark use all 4 cores on my Q6600. I haven't been able to run bench at 3.4ghz yet. Ic ouldn't get it stable at 3.41 even at 1.6v with fans maxed ...... VID is like 1.25 though so that's nice. As long as ff14 uses more than 2 cores I won't mind running at 3.2ghz. I'll post benchmark score later I have company atm.

Yeah if he's playing everything else perfectly then screw what the benchmark says. The benchmark does alot of shit that doesn't make sense, I just lowered my my OC by about 8% and got higher scores with lower clocks... lol.

Explain that one. I always test the same way. Reset Clocks, restart PC, let GPU idle 5-10 min, run the benchmark with nothing but temp monitor software running in the background.

What kind of PSU do you have to run that?

    Cpu bottleneck. Runs fluctuate.

Played FFXIV Beta today for over 2 hours, everything maxed out in the config and in game all options on high, shadows etc.

This was my GFX while playing...

Im just perplexed. People saying RAM seems to be at fault bad over clocks etc yet games are playing flawlesly. I guess thats what really matters? but i dont want it to just randomly explode one day.

I did the BIOS reset and the CPU seems to be still overclocking, itself maybe? Its supposed to be 2.67 GHz as clock but its showing up as 2785 MHz (21 x 133) What would cause this? Does anyone have any idea why CPU-Z, Everest and other monitors are picking up my CPU at running this overclocked speed yet when i boot up the machine the initial loading window picks it up as 2.67 GHz?

According to the RAM (http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...triple_channel) it is supposed to be CL 8-8-8-24 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) yet the monitors show it up as 7-7-7-18 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) DRAM 530.6~ MHz NB Frequency 2122.6~ MHz

This doesnt make sense as i did the Bios reset so why are the timings off still?

Ok so i got EVGA Eleet.

Its pretty much on par with CPU-ID except when it comes to the voltages of the PSU. Which is correct? Bah what a brain fuck...

Ever thought about unclicking Turbo Mode and hitting Apply Selection? Turbo Mode is what's causing it to run at 21x133 (2.79ghz). The 920 is supposed to default at 20x133 to get 2.66ghz. I'm not familiar with EVGA boards, but it might be "optimizing" your RAM to get those timings instead of the JEDEC standards. The RAM seems to be set at 4x the bus speed. Since it's DDR3 1600, you can probably run it at 5.67x to get 754mhz (1508mhz in DDR3), so that it's closer to it's rated speeds if you're keeping it at the stock bus speed.

On the other hand, if you want to overclock, a lot of people are able to get 4ghz by upping the bus speed to 200 with the multiplier at 20x and increasing the vcore. With the DDR3 1600, 4x works perfect at 200 bus speed since that would make it 800mhz (1600mhz in DDR3). I wouldn't recommend going straight for 200 bus speed though. Just increase in small increments and stress test every step of the way. If the RAM doesn't run at stock specifications (if DDR3 1600 8-8-8-24 1.65v causes memtest errors), I'd recommend contacting OCZ and try to get them to RMA it.

I am quite newbish when it comes to this stuff so I might as well ask.

I recently upgraded my computer and now have an ATI Radeon HD 4200. Not the best I know but it meets the minimal requirements. I am planning to purchase a better video card in the future but as for now I am a bit stumped. I have quad core but no matter what I am doing, the benchmark runs extremely choppy. The graphics all look great but I cannot get the benchmark to be smooth. Is there something I can use to improve this? Again, I would like to use this card for now and I am not upgrading yet.

you gotta upgrade that man http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/vi...Radeon+HD+4200

    Also I am apparently a bit of a dumbass and ordered this Q6600 without thinking that my mobo might not be able to OC it well at all. I booted once at 3.4ghz but not stable at any voltages. Looking around the net it seems its just my combo of cpu and mobo so I am gonna sell this shit and build a new system. I can keep my case/psu/hdd/gpu so it wont cost me much for a 1055t. Gotta start researching mobos now ._.;;;;;

HD 4200 is actually quite far below the HD 2900 (Min Req for the game according to SE), it's close to the HD 2400. So that might be why the benchmark is choppy.

Geez so higher numbers don't mean higher quality, huh?

Okay, what can you recommend for around $100-200? PCI.

HD 5770 ($~160) or GTX 460 ($~220). What CPU do you have exactly?
