this is the thread linking to how to do it, for those wondering.

How is the SLI via the tweak? I wont be able to try unbtil next week when my new case comes in, not gonna hook up SLI to my current shitty case and watch everything catch on fire from heat

This may have been talked about, but I don't want to read 100 pages.

Does anything think/know/played around with 6 cores working in the benchmark or beta? All i need to complete my new build is a processor. I want to get the best bang for the buck out of my AM3 socket.

Beta is highly multithreaded, though at the moment the load isn't balanced between the threads very well. My choice was a 1055t for excellent overclocking headroom.

The cooler on that zotac is sick. 750W PSU is enough for this though, right? I'll run the cpu/gpu at stock speeds if I have to, I'll eventually get an 850W+ and OC.

comp I built myself last year

OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Ultimate

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB DDR3 1600MHz
    Total Physical Memory 5.99 GB
    Available Physical Memory 4.12 GB
    Total Virtual Memory 12.2 GB
    Available Virtual Memory 10.4 GB

    After a couple of software tweaks and disabling the pagefile in the registry, nothing OCed, I was able to get;
    High

    Low
    http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...diatestlow.jpg

Funny thing is I have a dual boot system and the other OS is win 7 Ultimate, I got about -500- -750 less on both High and low.

6 cores really dont do too much for gaming if you go to http://www.guru3d.com/article/pc-buy...-summer-2010/3 even on their high end cpu they are only asking for an I7 930 and I hear the new AM3 6 cores dont fair that well in gaming but the top of the line black editions of their 4 cores are amazing.

Everything I've found shows if it can use 6 cores, the 1055T does better than the 965. If it can only use 4 cores, the 965 wins. But if you have a 1055 and you say its using 6 cores, then that's what I'm getting.

The intel cpu's are soooo much more money, you really have to "need" that kind of speed to buy one.

    should be fine for amd

Just need SE to get it's ass in gear and optimize ff14. Game utilizes like 11 threads but still runs like shit. Note 1055t recommendation was more for the overclocking headroom than the extra cores. Those things hit 4ghz eaaaaaasyyyyyyy. I just ordered a 2nd one for my girlfriend's PC I'm building next month.

A little confused. The 1055 is not a black edition or whatever. So the multiplier should be locked. But you say its still easy to OC?

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me in this thread. I feel a bit better about my ability to be able to play the game now.

Here was my previous LOW with a 5570:

Here is LOW with my new ATI 5870 Vapor-X (which required a new power supply but no complaints here):

Here is the HIGH with the 5870:

Yes, and generally you end up with better performance than overclocking with the cpu multiplier alone.

@Buddy is anything OCed? Because all those Low scores are quite a bit too low. Should be seeing 4k with 5750 and 7k+ with 5870.

High score looks about right though.

Where do you get 7k+ with a stock i7 930?

Need to OC close to 4.0 Ghz to hit 7k+ on low assuming no bottleneck from GPU.

    Edit:

Also with Buddy's "5750", if you check on his Graphics Card benchmark info, it says 5500 series.

I got 7k+ with 5870 Vapor-X and i7 930 at stock first time I ran it after assembling it. I'll run it again and see if I was just hallucinating, but I'm sure I got it.

I got ~4700 score on high, so otherwise its rather similar.

Edit: Perhaps I was hallucinating, I got 5577 on Low now.
