Should it really give me those issues or is something more? Is it really worth the money for a SSD? I already have to spend money for a mobo to OC my Q6600 and now this...
I think it's the HDD also. I just got a new SSD yesterday and am running 14 on it now, the stutter I was having before is 95% gone. I can still notice it stuttering just a tiny bit, but it isn't like freezing for a second or two every 3 seconds. I would just wait to see if they fix it if all you want is improved ff14 performance. THey should be able to do a better job with that.
However..... for the rest of my machine, I can say I'll die before I own a PC without an SSD in it from now on.

Any way to let me even run the fucking benchmark program? It seems every fucking thing i can download 14 related just wants to fucking crash on opening... Beta,Benchmarck, beta installer its becoming annoying as hell... I have the current new drivers installed. One thing i DID notice is when i accidentally downloaded the wrong driver. Shit seem to be working like a charm... but all my icons and shit where blown the fuck up and the resolution was extremely off.

I was having problems getting the benchmark to work before too. I had updated drivers and updated directx 9; the benchmark wouldn't run at first but I downloaded it over again and that seemed to fix the problem.

    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has a AMD Phenom II 965BE with a Geforce GTX 460 1gb at stock that has run benchmark and would mind sharing their results with me. This is what i am looking at getting for 14 and I was curious how it did on the benchmark. I am too unsure about oc'ing to even consider trying it out so that's why i am asking about stock.

    Thank you
    Lady

I have a 1055t and gtx 460 768mb. At stock i score about a 4500 on low, 2500 on high. Low is more CPU based, and high is more GPU based. A 965 BE is easy to overclock, so you should be fine there. With my 1055t running 3.8GHz and GTX 460 @ 850/1700/2000 i score around 5100 on low, 3000 on high.

TLDR: Your CPU is definitely sufficient. If you want to run on 1920x1080 with higher settings, the beta will run pretty well. If you want all the bells and whistles, go for a 5850/gtx 470. Or if you can afford it a 5870/gtx 480.

I just started using the MSI afterburner OSD thingy to check my framerate ingame. However, I see in most of your screenshots you get GPU usage as well. Mine only shows GPU Temp and Framerate (with no labels like yours as well). How do I get that stuff on?

    *EDIT*
Hurrr I'm retardo, I found it.

After playing some for the first time today on a PC that nearly matches the minimum specs:

    Core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53GHz
    2GB DDR2 RAM @ 667MHz
    9600GT 512MB

the game is barely playable, at bare minimum settings and 1024x768 the game controls like a tank. It's just barely tolerable, and very frustrating. Now I really want a new PC.

Here are some benchmark scores to illustrate multithreading support in ff14.
1055t @2.8ghz, GTX 460@890mhz. I disabled all but two cores in the bios and ran the benchmark on low with miqo'te. I then enabled the cores one by one up to six. All scores are on low setting.

    2 cores 2599
    3 cores 3524
    4 cores 3848
    5 cores 3976
    6 cores 4052

A huge jump from 2 cores to 3 cores, it definitely doesn't use just 2 cores.

hey guys first time post. Just wanted to know if this was any good.

    Phenom II x6 1055t oc to 4.02ghz
    Ati 5850
    8gb DDR3 running at 1600

on High I get a score of 4417 and on low I get somewhere around 6k. I was thinking of getting another 5850 and crossfiring them, but with the scores i'm getting will I be ok?

Got the beta running but it's killing my current pc have it set just above minimum settings to get it to play decently, I will be switching to PS3 next year but in the mean time I have to build two pc's to get me through to then, don't want to spend a whole lot on each since there gonna be unused as of March but have a guy who is going to build two with the same specs for a good price.

I5 Core 760 2.8ghz (can have him overclock it?)
    GTX 460 1gb
    8gb ram

All that I remember that seems relevant for just playing XIV, this seems like it should play XIV very well without having to double the price for an I7, sound good or any suggestions?

I planned buying thie system next week:

    Core i5-760 @2.8 Ghz
    Radeon 5850
    4GB DDR3-1333

But now I'm thinking of taking an i7-860 instead - would it be a big performance upgrade? the only difference is HyperThreading

750 or 760 will be fine, HT doesn't make a *huge* difference in terms of gaming.

    Edit for newer score**

    Score on Low settings: 7099

    i7-930 OC'd at 4.4GHz stable.
Still need to tweak the GPU more, but I have a minor overclock on the GPU currently.

Apparently I need 10 posts to post URLs lol. URL below

Is there a way to manually set the FPS?

I was able to do it with Starcraft 2 but I don't really see any registries for XIV.

an intel machine will score higher with the same number of cores and clock speeds than my amd system will. you should be fine with the i5-760

Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading my GPU before release so I can play on my TV (1920x1080), but I don't want something that will be bottle-necked too bad by my CPU. Current specs:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5
    4gb DDR2 RAM
    Nvidia 8800 GTX
Apevia ATX-WA900W Warlock 900-Watt ATX Power Supply

I was considering getting an ATI 5850... but I think that may be a bit overkill. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Figured it needed some more notebook bench:
    (Asus G51JX-SX310V)

    Scored low: 1966
    i5 450M @ 2.4 (stock)
    GTS 360M @ stock

    Scored low: 2140
    i5 450M @ 2.82
    GTS 360M @ 600/1600/1800

Should be pretty playable with some more overclocking on the GPU.
Didn't bother with high settings since it would suck anyway (and my res doesnt go up that high).

5850 isn't overkill, it won't be bottlenecked by that cpu either.

    more bench scores:

3.43ghz 1055t gtx 460@890mhz. All scores Low setting.

    4 cores 4628
    6 cores 4857

note in some sections of the bench I am gpu bound.
