Thank you for the input, I am downloading Afterburner as we speak.

I think the "AI" is specifically for knowing what can utilize CrossFireX and how... I may be mistaken though.

Furmark can run on 64-bit Windows 7, right?

Yes, they may be a 64bit version but I've forgotten. Remember to run the Multi-GPU .exe when you do tests though (works even when windowed, which is strange for CF).

Just did it on my new rig, 3200 on High, with no overclocking, once ive tested system out some more I will OC a bit.

i7 core. 460's as gfx cards (altho i know sli doesnt work...)

I am happy. If I can get fairly good results with basic setup there is much promise.

They really need to optimize this pos for nvidia cards, you dont just advertise the brand and then go half ass making the opposing brand run much better, fail?!

I'm hoping that the benchmark is not accurate. Its a bit retarded getting 3800 on high with an HD 5970. Really hope I didnt waste my money

And what is with the release of the Catalyst profile for FFXIV. Does this DO anything??

Wow. I just ran the CF/SLI hack and got 6400 on the benchmark......woohoo !!!! Here's hoping for CF

Stumbled upon some new Nvidia drivers in Dev phase: Forceware 259.31. I'm unsure if it addresses the low FPS on GTX400 cards on FFXI or FFXIV. I ran the Benchmark and the score difference was negligible. I'm interested to know if these drivers offer any improvement in actual gameplay during open beta which starts 09/01/10? according to FFXIVVault.

It's comforting to know that Nvidia is actually working on new drivers before release date... <_<

I am still curious about this "hack" to make two GPUs recognized as one to bypass XIV's lack of CrossFire/SLI support. Also, I'm wondering how to utilize the profile for XIV that AMD allegedly packaged into Catalyst 10.8.

You have to add the wrap around file (d3dx9.dll) to the data folder and rename the exe. This will force the bench to run full screen hence enabling cf/sli. I don't think there is a fix for the beta yet. I assume the profile amd released will have something to do with a fix not sure though. I fully believe cf/sli will be enabled at launch just from the benchmark scoring chart. No one is getting any where's near 6500-8000 without cf/sli so why would SE put that 8000+ as a performance measure if cf/sli would not be used in game?

So... here's an issue regarding my girlfriend's macbook pro...

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU 1: Geforce 9600M GT (512 MB)
GPU 2: Geforce 9400M (256 MB)

Her Windows 7 is not seeing the secondary GPU at all... I was hoping to utilize that workaround for SLI to make it bearable on her laptop come launch until PS3 comes out. I followed the directions but I don't think it's doing anything considering there's no secondary GPU seen by Windows 7. Her Snow Leopard (or whatever she has) sees both, but I was making somewhat of an assumption that there's SLI involved. Is there any other purpose for the double GPUs in these macbook pros? Multiple displays onry? I updated her windows Nvidia drivers and all... was getting like 900 on the low benchmark, and maybe 400 on the high. It's pretty weak. Would there be any other suggestions? ...aside from the typical "get a real computer" or "wait 6 months"

edit: well, scores improved by about 100~150 on both benchmarks, but I am going to assume it's from updating the (very old) drivers. I really want to say the first time I ran the benchmark on this machine a week ago, it saw both GPUs at the end... but meh only her mac OS sees the secondary now.

I don't pretend to know anything about MBP, but most of the time when laptops have two different gpus in them, one is for power savings and the other is for games. You're supposed to switch between either. But like I said that could be completely wrong.

I will second shaddix as for i dont know mac book pro's, but usually if a computer cant see hardware either it is not connected properly or it is broken. call apple support?

That's what's got me confuzzled. She's got Boot Camp... and MacOS sees both GPUs, Windows 7 only sees the primary GPU.
