I'm getting a shit ton of stuttering in this game it is almost unbearable. In fields i get 60 FPS constantly with massive stuttering down to 1FPS whenever i approach an atheryte crystal, but it only lasts for a few seconds. In town i get 30-40FPS which occasional stuttering here and there, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problems?

My rig is:

i7 920
6GB Ram
GTX 460 1GB

The funny thing is, I try popping in my old Radeon 4850 and I get zero stuttering, so I'm thinking maybe it is an issue with Nvidia drivers?

It's not a problem with only Nvidia, but if your 4850 is working fine it might be an issue only with certain graphics cards?

crossfire works automatically in fullscreen but it still sucks, hardly any improvement, if any, over a single card, also plus crossfire usually makes ur cards run hotter it sucks even more.

Yeah tell me about it...I have tried to run the game with AI in the CCC enabled but it actually makes the game perform worse... this sucks hardcore. I have to play with AI disabled.

with 2x 480 I am getting 60fps everywhere (outdoors 20% load each, cities 80% load each)
This is with 1600x900 (wife cannot read text with max res)
4xMSAA
AO off
Everything else on and set to highest settings.

What is everyone using to monitor gpu usage in game

I'm EVGA fan so i use their precision tool, some use fraps, some use msi afterburner, some use one of the other 500 programs

So I just used MSI afterburner and both cards in my 5970 with AI cataylst on in CCC show running at 50% (never goes above this) each in the field and getting like 46 FPS. The temp never goes above 65 C. However when I turn AI off in the CCC and run the game utilizing 1 card I get 90-95% usage on the one but get 60 FPS in the field. Really weird. Any ideas? Obviously not utilizing CF correctly.

I fixed this problem by spending 250 dollars on an SSD ._.;;;;;;;

I'm thinking of getting an ssd however I am not knowledged in these new drives. If I will be using it for games such as ffxiv what size should I be looking at??? Thanks

60gb + should be more than enough for installing Windows + FF14.

A SSD with a sandforce controller is preferable.

When looking around for an SSD, compare random I/O, NOT THE SEQUENTIAL.

or just buy a OCZ vertex 2

Have they fixed the performance degradation on SSDs yet? Tomshardware did a recent survey of SSDs and had the Vertex 2 and Phoenix Pro pretty neck & neck. Pro won a few battles.

Fixed? No
Trim on newer SSDs help extend the life though.

A SF-1200 with Trim Enabled should last roughly 5 years with no to very little degradation from what I researched.

I have a Raid 0 2X 40 gig intel SSD for my boot drive and a 120 gig phoenix pro for my Steam/FF Drive they both run great really fast and have no stutter with 2 470's.

I have a corsair force F120 (120gb), it is a sandforce drive with the special sauce firmware that only OCZ is supposed to get. Got it for 250 after rebate. No worries about TRIM, it barely makes a difference on any of the good SSDs(sandforce, indlinx, intel g2 (exception would be the C300) etc, they all have internal garbage collection(this is why I opted for sandforce over realSSD even though I have SATA3 mobo)). I have an old jmicron that I use in my laptop and TRIM keeps it running nice and swift though.

Sounds like the AI is not really running it crossfire but alternating load between the 2 gpus.

Could be something about 2 physical cards crossfire, but dual gpu cards don't. I know there is a guy here running 2 5770s in crossfire.

I was basing that off my previous experience. In CB3, I got 15-25 FPS (while it was *really* jumping/skippy) in the same area I'm getting 30+ now.

So yeah. Getting small temp differences (lower as compared to wtfhigh), but I haven't explored much.

what the Program you using in top corner for GPU and FPS?
