MSI afterburner, is it not always accurate?
Also what Res are you running on??
I wont do it with FRAP, already uninstalled it. I will post SS of evga precision
1080p settings at 1920/1080 or something.
Here are my scores from the benchmark tool:
High: 4742
Low: 5869
Core i7 950 @ 3.1GHz (Stock)
Sapphire HD 5850 (890MHz Core Clock/1150 Memory Clock/1.15V)
6GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
can't wait to get the game next week ^.^
I remember a few people mentioning problems with the benchmark crashing whilst it runs. I looked over the last few pages, but couldn't find any information.
Basically, I tried running the benchmark on low as I just got a new graphics card and wanted to try it out. It ran fairly smoothly, up untill the part where the character activates some kind of shield magic thing, then it crashes. It crashed at about thsi point several times. I've just updated by driver for my graphics card. My CPU was running between 60% and 100% the entire time, often up in the 80s/90s. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
The graphics card is ASUS GeFroce 460, DirectCU, 768MB. Processor is AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+. I'm running Windows XP, SP3, 32 bit
Heres a screenshot of the error:

Well one more day for those who didn't pre order..... It's a great game. I'm Just a little worried what like 400-500K more people at official launch are going to do to the "laggy" areas like towns and crystals. On a busy night in Grindina, I can drop to the low 30's with people standing around some of the camps. Whats gonna happen with like 40K more people jump on the server????? I hope not a slide showNot to mention that even now with only like 4k people on my server it can be difficult to quest in some zones as they are already waaaay over populated.
As someone said on another site I had to agree with....with other MMO's there is no cap on how fast you can level. So those who have time to play will be out of zones faster than those with less time to play relieving some of the strain on questing areas. However with the fatigue system, fast and slow, new and current players will all be competing for the same resources and quest mobs. Not sure if this is gonna break this game or not.........
Not that I have an issue with the fatigue system I think its a different fresh take.
A Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.8 Ghz should yield me at least 30 fps everywhere but Adventurer's Guild, right? GPU isn't a bottleneck for me.
Expand "Adventurer's Guild" to "the entire city and camp sites" and that would probably be correct. I'm running my x6 at 4ghz and pretty much in the 20s in town/camps, teens in the really congested parts. With the gpu at like 40%. And the main core running xiv is not always pegged either. I think it's shitty networking.
Yeah. I've done some more research and I just can't justify upgrading to another AMD CPU. I willl stick with my Athlon II for now and pray for the performance patch that'll never come. I'd probably get a 30% fps increase with a Phenom II x4, but i'd also get a >30% increase in system power consumption and it would cost me $180 since there's no 2nd hand market in Sweden.
My OEM version of Windows 7 will only let me install it to one motherboard. If I were to buy an Intel mobo, is there a "work around" that would enable me to install Windows, that doesn't involve too much hassle? Or do you think I'd be successful in just calling Microsoft, asking them to let me activate it for my new mobo, as long as it's uninstalled on my previous system?
I don't care if I get 10 fps in the Adventurer's Guild or sightseeing around the towns, but 20 fps whenever I need to craft with Synthesis Support hurts my productivity so much. Damn it all.
If you call microsoft, they'll let you put it on another mb. You'll just get some indian guy you can't understand anyway, and if he denies you, call back to get another rep and answer the quesitons with what he wants to hear based on your first call.
Finally got Benchmark running on pc, just had to use nvidia link not SE's >_>

Card is the ASUS ATI HD "ARES" 5970 4GB.
What program do you guys use for GPU monitoring? To see the extent which the gpu is being used, that is. Also, my AMD Athlon II X4 605, according to CPU-Z, during playing FFXIV (although I've not played for more than an hour or so on this new comp) has never gone above 12C; this makes me wonder if the temps you guys post for your CPUs are all OC'd, and that this could be OC'd safely, or if I'm not setting something correctly. Is there some condition that I could try (going into some crowded area or something) that would, I guess, stress test the CPU and see what its real max temp would be before trying to OC?
Got a second GPU today but I cannot get CrossfireX working in FFXIV for the life of me. Runs fine in benchmarking and other apps.
Running 2x HD6870s. Catalyst 11.2 drivers and I'm using Radeon Pro and I've forced alternate frame rendering.
Any tips?
Play a game that doesn't suck. And that's not trolling, its XIVs fault.
Unfortunately your advice goes unheard because other people have gotten it to work.
Make sure A.I (or something close) is set to advanced, it should work but Crossfire is just buggy in this game...
