Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.10 GHz
4 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330
500 on low res.
I'm not really an expert with computer specs and such but I can kind of tell that my CPU seems to be the culprit for my low score. Can anyone tell me if my GPU might have anything to do with it? I don't know how good or bad my graphics card is compared to other ones out there. I'm just really trying to narrow this down to see what I need to upgrade to at least get my score in the 1000-2000 range. Is the graphics card fine and I would just need to get a CPU with a higher processing speed, like 2.4 GHz or higher, or could I get away with keeping the CPU and getting a better graphics card? Like I said I'm really just aiming for something in the 1000-2000 range to let me know I could get away with playing the game on low settings.

i overclocked my CPU and ran the bench again on Low.
Got a bit more.
Ok soo i got a problem, and i think you all can help me here, I am gonna be getting a new vid card when i return from Vacation and was pretty set on the GTX480 by EVGA, now after seeing the FFXIV benchmarks i am thinking that i might go back to ATI again after leaving 2 cards ago, that being said i am trying to decide on the 5870 vs gtx480. If i was to get a 5870 which company makes the best one and is there really much of a difference, money is not a problem of either card, but no i dont wanna spend 700+ on a 5970 for no reason. I will be using this card for FFXIV only as i play most other games on PS3 and prob wont care too much about playing anything else when FFXIV drops.
cheers~
I'd go with the 480. nVidia hasn't had the same amount of time to evolve their drivers as ATI has, and the 480 is an all around better card. I bought a 5870 because at the time I bought it, there was no clear indication of when the Fermi architecture would hit the market. I don't regret my choice because, well, at the time I didn't really have one. Now that you do have a choice between the two, the 480 will perform better once the drivers get a bit more love.

Everything on my comp is completely stock, I tried using the 10.4 catalyst but I would black screen like just before the final CS and couldn't complete the benchmark, so did it on 10.6.
Edit: Left out that I'm also using HD 5870.
So when i hit start, the FFXIV benchmark looks like it'll work but then i get the glorious FFXIV Benchmark has Stopped working and windows "checks" the problem before you get the thingie that makes you shut it down, you know what i mean. i'd post the picture but cant because i usually dont post on BG and need 10 posts... Anyways...
What do?
Just downloaded the latest DX from Microsoft because before it crashed for this and actually told me i needed the dx thing and i got it and fixed it, and it is no longer giving me the dx error but now just this new hell. No more DX Problems but now this...
Ask if need info or if it is just a recurring problem. And again, no, does not involve DX...been there; done that.![]()
Try updating drivers?
Low: 3325
High: 2077
w7 64 bit
AMD Phenom II X4 805, 2.5GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5750
8GB DDR2 RAM
Considering I paid $500 for the entire rig, I'm pretty happy with that. I actually planned to play on PS3 anyway.
Just to say something else, but god damn that video was really pretty haha. Graphics look fantastic.

On high, obviously.
Updated to the latest ATI drivers (mine were from Feb '09). Score dropped 50 points...and I'm surprised the drop was that small as it was stuttering the whole time, FPS was terrible.
Restored to the old version. Going back to never updating drivers unless absolutely neccessary.
10.4 is the best atm, 10.6 has issues... although if you get "optimized" drivers for 10.6 from some third party it'll be better most likely. (also the drivers aware aimed at 5000 series so you'd see the most improvement in those not anything lower by much!)![]()
Hmm i has no1 ran it with a Phenom II X6 1090T?
i kinda wana know how the game will perform with it since i plan n getting one in the future.
i know for gaming its suposed to be a little lower than intels range of the same specs but my rig isnt gone be used for gaming only so i just wanna know performance wise.
feed back is welcomed tho :D
Because e-peen demands no less, I did a bit more tweaking and a bit more overclocking to come up with a new hi res bench score. As before, single Radeon 5870, overclocked until it was about to assplode, with CPU overclocked to 4.3ghz.
5633 high res
Spoiler: show
I thikn there's probably a teeny bit more I could squeeze out of my video card but it took many BSODs and several scrambled screens and generic crashes to find the sweet spot that got those numbers. I hadn't really messed around too much with overclocking my GPU until this benchmark came out. It helps that I'm running a water cooled system because I think that the settings I had my GPU pushed to, it would have overheated on stock air.
The best I've been able to get on low res is 7991 so far. Damn you, Soap, and your hex core deliciousness! I think if I could squeeze out another 100Mhz on the CPU I could probably come close to your 8061 but I seem to be right at the threshold between stable and zomfgcrashcrashcrash.
I must be the only lucky person with 10.6.
Friend of mine running CrossFire'd 5870s upgraded, and his system lunched itself, had to rollback.
I installed, and framerates/performance have been up (in the benchmark tool and in real gaming), with no side effects I've yet encountered.
Then again, 10.4 was only ever about 95% stable for me, I've had a few issues with driver crashes, mainly playing MW2. Most of the times Win7 can recover, once I had to hard reboot to break the failure/recovery loop.
