Dont update anything, you have a dual GPU card which isnt currently working in the benchmark. Wait until crossfire/dual GPu drivers for the game are released. You'll be fine.

Ah yes I apologize. I completely blanked on that fact. However, I was under the impression SLI/Crossfire setups don't give ZOMG performance boosts. And at best you might see anywhere 10-20% increase in overall performance. I've had a SLI setup myself once before and personally feel a single GPU that costs significantly more will be better in the long run than two that cost the same price.

first off crossfire doesn't scale as well as SLI. this is why two cheaper and weaker 470s out perform two 5870s in crossfire. SLI this gen actually scales pretty dam well by giving a 50-65% performance boost in most games. the benchmark is questionable at best and really gives a false bearing as to what you actually need to run the game; in fact I'm shocked people are using the benchmark as a reference.

Upon patching and trying to join a server (just to get the error message), the clients FPS cap increased from 30 to 60.

I think testing will be a go for tonight

What do you score on 1280x720? And what resolutions are available, not sure I saw a thread with all the ones available posted somewhere. Also your system specs would help as well just for a comparison.

Shadows Highest, All effects on, etc. Only thing turned down was Antialiasing.

One thing I have noticed is the mouse is still slow, am I missing something or has it just stayed like that? It seems worst.

for a 3700 score thats pretty good since its a 30fps cap, what was ur AA? and how did it look w/ lower AA? Not sure this game even needs AAx4/8

AA was on 2x, but also on Adaptive Multisampling in Ati's CC - It's playable at 1600x900 with the exact same settings - at higher res I found it was very jerky.

why would you upgrade from an x4 to x6? results won't change as much as they would if you got a 5870 or 5970

Earlier in this thread I saw a score of 4700ish with the same set up as mine but with a x6 instead of 4, But if a 5870 + x4 will do better then I'll go that route.

oh, I see. Yeah, the x6 will probably be your best bet, buy an aftermarket cooler and OC that thing.

Managed to get 1500 @ 1080p, with an older HD3870 (non-OCed).

Just some random tweaking and results from a minimum PC

RADEON HD 4670 512 MB
CORE 2 DUO E6300 1.86
2 GB RAM
WINDOWS XP

These figures are in low (I got the expected 900 in high res)

1.86 - 1730
2.0 - 1788
2.2 - 1826
2.4 - 1882

With stock cooling, 2.4 was pretty doable and while the heat was still OK (6300 seems to OC pretty well) after a long period of time, I don't want to push it further, especially as the GPU's pretty good.

Looks like I'm going to limp by a bit for the PC after all. I'll probably upgrade the video card and while the old CPU is going to limit the potential of an updated GPU, it's not like I won't be able to move the card to the new computer I plan on building over the winter.

Played the beta today just fine on my macbook pro c2duo 2.4ghz 4gb ram geforce 320(scored 800 on low) Game settings: 1280*800 everything turn off and screen buffer at half(20/30FPS) It's totaly playable even with 30 chars around you. It doesnt look very good tho its like playing ffxi with the background set to 512*512, lego mode.

Can't test what I wanted to in the OP ;/ FPS is still capped at 30.. and even on the highest settings I'm locked at 30. Wouldn't make for much of a test.. lol.

that's a good sign since the 320 is pretty much the 9600 gt and the 9600 gt IS exactly the 8600 GT.

Looks like I'll be able to play this game albeit poorly!

Good news considering I was planning on buying a new one for classes and occasional games. Should be easy to take to my friends' dorm and convince them to finally quit WoW.
