Yeah. I posted a few pages back that I was getting insanely random FPS dips. I'll be running through the fields 30 FPS no problems then hit 5 and shoot back up for no apparent reason. You'll noticed these stutters in the videos.
Both have problems, but they're kind of different. With certain ATI cards, you'll get lag spikes every couple of seconds. With the fermi cards (and I guess the 9600gt, though you're the first I've heard about) the NPC and PC characters disappear completely and become untargetable.
I have the ATI 5770 and the only time it dipped down was when Leviathan was jumping over the ship. Like when the boat is halfway between his body while he's in the air it will momentarily freeze for like a split second if you're paying attention. I didn't see it happen anywhere else in the benchmark.
But this could be nVidia/ATI's fault but you can be rest assured both companies are working with SE and there will be new drivers released by the time Star Craft II releases and also when FFXIV releases. 10.7 should be coming up at the end of the month. I'd wager money on that.
Are you talking about during the benchmark or just during the cs? Did you check your framerate when in the field/town. During the cs i had a constant 30fps even with fraps running, but when i got to town it dipped down to around 25 even after i stopped fraps and lowered the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1600xsomething in windowed mode. Forgot to mention i was running a c2d @3.4ghz and ati 5870 with catalyst 10.6
Just during the benchmark. I don't have beta access unfortunately and I don't own a big monitor so I will only be running 1280x720(1024 max). So I should be able to keep my frame rate up. As long as it don't lag or stutter I don't care if the fps goes down to 5. But this is on an old Pentium 4 3.0 GHz so don't take my setup to heart lol.
I scored a 412 on my laptop and the cut scene is go, stop, go stop, go stop kind of lag. Doubt I'd be able to play it even on low with my laptop. Apparently there's some talk about an express card or some kind of interface that lets you hook up an external GPU... have to research more into it. There was a thread on Zam about it.
One thing I did notice is that during all the CS my FPS was locked on 30, it only went down when I was actually playing. There were no stuttering in CS's either.
Built the new PC today, i7 920/6gb ddr3/x58 mobo/his 5850, everything at stock on a fresh install.
I'm quite happy with the results, I should be able to hit 7k on low and 5k on high after some ocing/tweaking.

Im so torn... Get another gtx 480 for SLI... or just OC my current 480. I'm sure when the cap is increased to 60fps u would get better performance out of 2 cards..
If its increased.
So do these scores mean anything in regards to FPS in game? How is a 3K score fairing in the beta, compared to a 4K or 5K score? I am seeing these beefy computers (i7s, hexacores, and expensive video cards) but only pumping out 4-5K scores. Are they playing the beta well with the settings turned up?
"only" 5k is good - this is more than enough to play the game
they should. with a 4870 on low res default settings I got 25-30. high res with more settings is where you'll see that power in effect.
Question: is there a good FPS counter that i could run, if its important I have a Asus G73JH-A1, ATI radeon 5870.
